Ever since he came into the public’s consciousness as one of the contestants and the eventual champion of “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 2, we knew that Jason Dy was undoubtedly going to be among the most promising artists of ABS-CBN.
And true enough, he indeed became one of the most well-loved singers and most celebrated champions of his generation, who gets to showcase his versatility and prowess as a performer via his appearances on “ASAP” almost every week over the past 10 years that he has been in showbiz.
Thus, being a part of the all-star Sunday afternoon party ever since his career began in 2015, Jason is among the Kapamilya artists who have paid tribute to “ASAP” for its 30th anniversary celebration this 2025 by imparting the things he’s been grateful for and his fondest memories in this exclusive video!
The proud Batch 2015 “baby” began by thanking the show for its valuable contributions to his continuously thriving career. He conveyed, “Thank you sa ‘ASAP’ dahil tinupad n’yo ang mga pangarap ko. I’ve always wanted to be part of ‘ASAP’ and dahil sa ‘ASAP,’ I feel like I have become a better artist, become a better singer, [and become] a professional. ‘ASAP’ continues to inspire [me] and make me a better person.”
Since “first times” have a special place in our hearts, Jason said that he would never forget the very first instance that he set foot on the “ASAP” stage, just less than a day after the grand finals of “The Voice Philippines Season 2,” in which he was declared the grand winner.
He recounted how actually nerve-wracking that moment was, confessing that he was actually more nervous on his first-ever “ASAP” performance than at the grand finals of “The Voice PH.”
Meanwhile, his most unforgettable memory on the variety show was his first-ever duet with OPM legend Regine Velasquez-Alcasid when he and their “ASAP” family welcomed her following her momentous transfer to ABS-CBN in 2018. As a huge fan of Asia’s Songbird, it was absolutely an honor and a dream come true for him.
Jason ended his tribute by expressing how truly happy he is to be part of one of the longest-running Sunday noontime variety shows in the Philippines, especially now that it has reached its milestone 30th anniversary. “Maraming, maraming salamat, ‘ASAP.’ Happy 30th anniversary, ASAP!” he remarked.
