The energy was off the charts at the Kapamilya Chat studio on Thursday afternoon, June 26, as the tandem of Shuvee Etrata and Klarisse de Guzman a.k.a. ShuKla dropped by for a visit. Relive all the feel-good moments as Shuvee and Klarisse share exciting stories about their journey in "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition."
Both have already adjusted to life in the "outside world" two weeks after their eviction, with Klarisse back to work right away, while Shuvee joked that she still hasn’t finished watching all the fan edits of her “PBB” moments. Speaking of which, one of Shuvee's most trending scenes inside Bahay ni Kuya was her super kilig reaction when her crush, Kapamilya actor Donny Pangilinan, came in as a houseguest.
"Si Donny po, matagal ko na siyang crush, mga fetus pa lang ako," she quipped. It was actually her first time seeing Donny that close in person, which is why she went full fangirl mode. The next day, when Donny greeted the housemates good morning, Shuvee felt as if his attention was on her alone, even with Brent Manalo sitting right beside her, which left her feeling like she had completely melted in her seat.
Meanwhile, Klarisse was loved by the housemates as their mother figure, and even viewers and fans of the show now fondly call her “Mowm,” something that truly makes her happy, "Nakakatuwa parang ang dami ko agad anak."
They were both warmly welcomed by people in the outside world after their eviction, and for Shuvee, it felt as if she had discovered a new purpose because of all the support she receives and the realization that she had brought joy to so many; as she shared, "I was just myself but at the same nagbigay pala ako ng inspirasyon sa kanila. Masaya po ako na nakakatulong and now I feel like I've really found my purpose."
Klarisse, on the other hand, admitted that neither of them expected such overwhelming support from the public, because while they were inside the house, they had no idea what was happening beyond its walls and had even wondered at times whether people were actually watching them. That's why seeing how much love the viewers have for them moves her deeply, especially since everything she did in Bahay Ni Kuya reflected who she really is. "Sobrang nakakatuwa makita 'yung pagmamahal ng tao. 'Yung mga ginagawa kasi namin doon, eh 'yun talaga kami. At ang sarap lang sa pakiramdam na napakita ko rin 'yung side ko na 'yun," said Klarisse, who is now known not just as a singer but also as a comedian of sorts, having truly lived up to her moniker “Kuwela Diva.”
Klarisse's friends also rallied behind her to show their love when she decided to come out as bisexual during her time in the house. Kapamilya Chat showed her clips from previous interviews of her fellow “Birit Queens,” Angeline Quinto and Jona, where Jona expressed how glad she was to witness Klarisse finally come out. "Saludo ako sa tapang mo, Klang. Sana mas marami pa yung katulad mo na kung ano ‘yung authentic self ay ‘yun ang ipapakita nila," said Jona.
Meanwhile, Angeline shared how close their mothers had been back when her Mama Bob was still alive, which is why, while Klarisse was inside the house, Angeline would check in on Klarisse's mom. Angeline also said she’s happy that people finally got to see Klarisse’s funny side, something fans don’t always see in her performances on stage, and that her respect for Klarisse only grew deeper after seeing her bravely come out.
Reacting to her friends’ messages, Klarisse expressed how much she misses them and that she looks forward to reuniting with them soon as she prepares to return to work on "ASAP."
Of course, one of their most talked-about moments inside the house was that heated argument between Klarisse and housemate Dustin Yu during a task where no one was allowed to speak. Klarisse, who was the task leader at the time, noticed Dustin and Bianca de Vera distracting each other, so she felt she had to call them out, and no one expected that it would actually spark a confrontation. Seeing that Klarisse was starting to struggle with the tension, Shuvee decided to step in and try to calm things down, and that’s how those hilarious memes were born, with Shuvee sitting right in the middle of Dustin and Klarisse like a referee. "Pumunta na lang ako sa gitna kasi parang magsusuntukan na sila," she joked. Klarisse, for her part, didn’t really make a big deal out of what happened, in fact, she said, she even forgot that Shuvee had stepped in between them during that moment.
At the time, Klarisse kept saying over and over that she wanted to voluntarily exit because things were getting too overwhelming, so Shuvee felt like she must do something to stop her because she still wanted to bond with Klarisse and get closer to her. Their friendship just grew unexpectedly solid from there. Klarisse said she was so entertained by Shuvee’s talkative, funny, and energetic personality, while Shuvee joked that she realized she truly loves Klarisse when, without hesitation, she jumped into the pool to save her when Klarisse got drunk, even though she was still wearing her lapel mic, which of course was a violation of house rules and led to her automatic nomination. What made it funnier was that Donny was still in the house at the time, and as Shuvee teased, it turned out she cared more about Klarisse than her own crush.
Netizens also turned Klarisse’s constant sleepy moments inside the house into memes, with people online jokingly calling her the perfect representative of the millennial group. Klarisse laughed it off, saying she really did run out of energy faster since she was surrounded by younger housemates, "Mas maaga po talaga akong inaantok sa kanila."
They also shared what it was like returning to Bahay ni Kuya recently along with the other evictees as Duo Challengers, where their task was to test whether the remaining duos have what it takes to be the Big Winner. Both admitted that even for them, it was a challenge to act firm in front of the housemates they had grown used to seeing as friends rather than rivals.
Klarisse truly believes that all the remaining housemates deserve a spot in the Big Four, but at the end of the day, someone still must go for the competition to move forward. What matters to her is that she and Shuvee are proud of everyone’s journey, and she’s excited for the housemates to finally see, once they step outside, just how intense and heartwarming the public’s support has been for them.
Shuvee added, "To all the remaining housemates out there, you did it. Deserve n'yo 'yan. Sana huwag kayong sumuko... After all the hardships, after all you've been through, nandito na kayo, finally. Congratulations, guys."
