With the slew of projects that she has been doing before and after her “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” stint, there’s definitely no doubt that AC Bonifacio is one of the most bankable and most sought-after artists at present. Yet, she was still able to swing by TFC The Filipino Channel’s online talk show “BRGY” to have some catching up with its host, Bianca Gonzalez.
As Bianca wished that she was able to enjoy her “PBB Collab” stint, AC conveyed that staying inside Bahay ni Kuya felt like a vacation for her. She enthused about how beautiful an experience it was, as she was able to create good and genuine relationships or friendships with other housemates and learn a lot of things from them. Besides, she also got to reminisce on the small things that she used to do in school before, like art projects, and had learned to appreciate them more.
They revisited some of AC’s unforgettable moments in PBB—from the moment she was introduced as one of its housemates for this edition up to her eviction alongside her first and last duo partner, Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega.
The first one they looked back on was the process that the “Dedicated Showstopper of Canada” went through before being chosen to become part of this historic incarnation of “PBB.” While aspirants for the regular and teen editions had to endure the long queues and waiting during the auditions, Bianca explained that it’s quite a different process for the celebrity edition because artists are either invited to audition or express their interest to join. And in AC’s case, she was invited to be interviewed.
According to her, she was actually invited to audition for the “PBB Kumunity” season—in which her close friend and fellow “ASAP” mainstay Kyle Echarri was a part of—but that didn’t push through. However, she’s always been curious about “PBB,” especially since she has a lot of friends who were products of the reality show and who have nothing but great stories about their experiences and learnings.
“I’ve always been curious. So, when this came about, I talked to my mom about it, talked to my friends about it, and they were like, ‘Go, kaya mo. Para ma-experience mo.’ I was so super, super scared [and] so nervous that I didn’t wanna do it at first po talaga ‘coz I know people would take me in a different way. If you don’t know me po talaga you can switch it up; you can create a narrative to look at it differently. So, I was scared. That’s why I made that promise to myself na when I’m go in, I’m just gonna be myself,” she said.
While those people close to her and who know her often see her as a bubbly and cheerful lady, we can all agree that we had witnessed a totally different AC inside the house, as she tended to get emotional oftentimes. Since dancing has been one of her emotional outlets, she disclosed that there were moments when she would dance in one corner even without music, just for her to be able to shake off whatever negative thoughts or feelings she had at the moment.
Bianca then had AC talk about a few of her most controversial moments inside the house, such as her heart-to-heart conversation with housemate Bianca de Vera, as well as her and Ashley’s eviction that spawned a lot of memes on social media. They also looked back on one of the fans’ most favorite photos of thel 16 “PBB Collab” housemates that was taken during their “Pinoy Big Pares” task.
While she’s known to be a great and versatile performer, AC described herself as “a girl trying to figure out life” whenever she’s not on the stage and under the spotlight. She expounded, “I think I’m just a regular 22-year-old trying to figure it out. I’m a best friend, I’m a daughter, I’m a friend, I’m an acquaintance. ‘Yon lang po talaga. And I think that’s something they got to see inside, na I make mistakes. I really do. I’m learning, and I’m so glad that there are people who are aware of my faults and are making me aware of [them] so that I can learn to be better."
