Gabbi Garcia and Mavy Legaspi are ready to be part of history as the newest additions to the "Pinoy Big Brother" family for its latest season, “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition.” And they couldn't be more excited! Let’s check in on their preparations as hosts and talk all things PBB with them!
The two are beyond thrilled for the grand reopening of Big Brother’s house. Gabbi shared, "I'm looking forward na ma-meet lahat ng housemates, marinig ang boses ni Kuya, at makapasok sa bahay ni Kuya as host." Meanwhile, Mavy calls it an honor to be part of the iconic reality show.
Both are huge fans of PBB. Gabbi revealed that, as a kid, she would even ask permission to stay up late just to catch the daily episodes since PBB usually aired late at night. And her all-time favorite housemate and Big Winner is none other than Melai Cantiveros, who is now her co-host. As for Mavy, the season he followed the most was "Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7," the batch of Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo.
Gabi and Mavy are deep into preparations for their hosting duties. Gabbi has been seeking advice from her co-hosts, as well as from King of Talk, Boy Abunda, her mentor. She’s been rewatching past seasons to familiarize herself with PBB's history. Mavy, on the other hand, has been reading up on personality traits to better understand the housemates, knowing that each one will bring a unique personality into the mix.
Fans of the show know that one must first experience life as a housemate before becoming a host. It's like a tradition in Kuya's family. So, are Mavy and Gabbi ready in case they get sent inside Bahay Ni Kuya? We'll have to wait and see if they'll go through the same initiation. But if ever that happens, they would love to bring five essentials with them. Gabbi’s picks are her cellphone, skincare, Shirataki rice, cheek and lip tint, and a blower. As for Mavy, if he could, he’d bring his basketball, pet dogs, and most importantly, his cellphone, "I think pinaka-importante ang cell phone kasi malalaman mo kung anong nangyayari sa labas ng Bahay ni Kuya, so 'dun pa lang okay na ako."
Asked what they'd like to tell Big Brother, Gabbi expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome. "Excited na akong marinig ka, at makasama ang lahat ng mga angels mo," she said. Meawhile, Mavy dropped a fun question for Kuya, "Excited ka bang makita ako?" because he himself is looking forward to the challenges for both the housemates and hosts, especially since this is a special edition celebrating PBB’s 20th anniversary.
Kuya's angels—Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Kim Chiu, Enchong Dee, and Alexa Ilacad—are also returning as hosts for "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition," which will premiere on GMA Network this March 9.
