Edgar Allan Guzman (YFSF Season 1, 2015) - “Thinking Out Loud”
Dressed in Ed Sheeran’s trademark plaid polo and white shirt, Edgar Allan Guzman charmed the crowd with the 2014 classic “Thinking Out Loud.” More than the outfit, he captured Ed’s voice and vibe perfectly.
Judge Gary Valenciano was clearly amused by EA’s performance, saying, “I think you really have a good voice.” He even expressed his wish to work with EA at the end of the season. Meanwhile, coach Jed Madela noted that he was looking for a transformation that would hide the contestants as individuals but allow them to shine as the artists they were embodying. “Walang EA ngayon---it’s very Ed Sheeran, from the head, the hair, pati sa tattoo,” he said, praising Edgar Allan for fully channeling the British singer.
“Parang na-in love ako,” Judge Sharon Cuneta admitted, visibly moved by the performance. “You already have the voice, the moves, and being handled by Gary Valenciano will only make you the best, so I'm looking forward to that,” she proudly told him.
Edgar Allan placed 4th at the end of the season.
Justin Alva (YFSF Kids Season 1, 2017) - “Thinking Out Loud”
Justin Alva immediately drew surprised expressions the moment he stepped out of the “iconator” as Ed Sheeran. Performing “Thinking Out Loud,” he had the audience---and even the judges---singing and clapping along, leaving smiles all around.
Judge Sharon remarked that the song was a perfect fit for Justin, appreciating his effort to truly embody Ed Sheeran. “Ginagaya mo pati ‘yung accent, ‘yung mga nuances niya. Yun ang nakakapag‑pabilib sa akin,” she said.
As Ed Sheeran is a talented recording artist, Judge Gary expected a strong delivery from Justin---and he delivered. “’Yung narinig ko ngayon, hindi lang pumasok dito [sa tenga], pumasok din dito [sa puso],” Gary said. He praised Justin for performing with genuine inspiration, noting that the emotion resonated deeply and proved Justin is a true artist in the making.
Finally, Judge Ogie noted that Justin had a “kilig” factor. “Nakaka‑kilig kang kumanta, ‘yun naman din ang ginagawa ni Ed Sheeran. He communicates really well, at ‘yun ang ginawa mo,” he said, offering nothing but praise for Justin.

Noel Comia Jr. (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) - “Perfect”
Noel Comia Jr. melted hearts with his rendition of Ed Sheeran’s 2017 ballad “Perfect.” His transformation was spot-on---from Ed Sheeran’s signature style to performing with his guitar. The audience, along with the judges, couldn’t help but jam along as he sang.
Judge Sharon opened the jurors’ comments with, “Mas gwapo ka kay Ed Sheeran.” She was clearly in awe of Noel’s performance, even calling it her favorite among the acts. “Ang ganda ng performance mo, Ed Sheeran ‘yung nakita ko,” she said.
With his many talents, Judge Ogie said Noel is definitely blessed. “’Yung maliliit mong ginagawa, attention to detail… well done. Truly, ito ‘yung pinakamaganda mong [performance,]” he remarked. Lastly, Coach Jed acknowledged that while Noel struggled with the vocals, he still managed to pull it off as Ed Sheeran, saying Noel did a good job.
Noel placed 6th at the end of the season.
Jason Dy (YFSF Season 4, 2025) - “Perfect”
Lights were definitely shining for Jason Dy as he delivered a heartfelt performance of Ed Sheeran’s hit “Perfect.” The audience, judges, and fellow ka-Familiars were swooned by his vocals. Jason even gave a sample of how Ed Sheeran speaks with his British accent, leaving everyone amazed.
According to Judge Sharon, they already expected Jason to deliver well in his performance. She even encouraged him to give a shoutout to Ed Sheeran, and Jason responded with a heartwarming message as a devoted fan. Sharon then remarked, “This again was a flawless performance… the feels, it was all Ed Sheeran.” She noted that Jason is one of the best performers she has ever seen.
Judge Gary followed, highlighting Ed Sheeran’s humble beginnings and artistry. “’Yung movement ni Ed Sheeran ay nasa boses niya… at alam ko na mai‑impress talaga si Ed Sheeran sa’yo because ginawa mo ‘yung research mo,” he said. Gary praised Jason for using everything he had learned to perform convincingly like Ed Sheeran himself.
Guest Judge Erik Santos was all smiles as he bantered with Jason before giving his comments. He noted how Jason excelled at impersonating other artists, “Ngayon na nakita ko siya [Jason] as Ed Sheeran, talagang in‑character.” Erik praised Jason for doing his research to embody Ed Sheeran’s nuances, adding, “Nakita ko talaga ‘yung Ed Sheeran kay Jason Dy.” He described Jason’s performance as nothing short of perfect.
