Liam (Donny Pangilinan) and Olsen’s (Kyle Echarri) friendship-turned-rivalry reaches a fever pitch in the December 15 episode of “Roja.” Following the successful cover-up orchestrated by Uno (Joel Torre) and his team during the authorities’ inspection of La Playa Roja---prompted by the suspicious reports they’ve been receiving---the siege continues, and everyone’s lives are pushed into even greater danger.
Liam gets caught in a mission ordered by Uno and becomes bait to lure Olsen out of hiding, as he is in grave danger after killing Singko (Gello Marquez).
With only 30 minutes to complete his mission, Liam searches the entire resort for any sign of Olsen. Desperate, he barges into Magnus’ (Raymond Bagatsing) office and uses the PA system to call him out.
“Olsen… nakikiusap ako sa’yo. Kung nasaan ka man, Olsen, kailangan ko ng tulong mo. Papatayin nila ako. Papatayin nila si Luna (Maymay Entrata), pare!” he pleads.
His desperate call echoes throughout the resort---heard by Greta (Lorna Tolentino), Magnus, Chief Ben (Levi Ignacio), Wendy (Janice de Belen), the guests they’re hiding with, and Olsen himself. But Olsen remains unmoved. “Wala akong pakialam sa kanya,” he says firmly. He assumes Liam is being tortured to reveal his location and believes that if Liam discovers where they are, he’ll report back to Uno’s group.
But Liam isn’t the only one in danger---his best friend Luna is also at risk. Liam speaks into the PA system again, while Tres (Bernard Palanca), Kwatro (Harvey Bautista), and Sais (Lou Yanong) watch in amusement at his strategy. Wendy, meanwhile, tries to convince her son to soften his heart. “Napakalaki ng utang na loob natin sa pamilya nila… lalong‑lalo na sa nanay ni Liam, kay Greta,” she reminds him.
Liam continues to beg Olsen for help as the intruders---and Luna---listen closely. With only 10 minutes left, the tension rises. “Olsen! Sasabog na ’tong bomba!” Liam screams into the speaker once more.
With only a few minutes left, Liam scrambles to come up with another strategy after failing to lure out Olsen. He suddenly runs toward the shore, ripping off the helmet and the attached camera the goons have been using to monitor him.
“Paano ba ’yan? ’Di ba ang usapan ’wag tanggalin ang camera?” Tres mutters to Luna, who is also watching Liam’s every move. Tres then orders Sais to shoot her. As Sais points the gun at Luna’s head, the vest Liam had been wearing---attached with a bomb---is hurled directly toward them. Five seconds later, it explodes, sending Tres, Sais, and Luna jumping off in different directions.
The explosion echoes across the entire resort. Uno is immediately alarmed. Liam rushes to save Luna, while Kwatro sprints back to see what happened. He eventually finds Tres, while Luna regains consciousness---embracing Liam tightly after realizing he saved her life.
Every move becomes a risk, followed by a potential betrayal. And just when it seems the worst is over, possible threats are just around the corner.
