Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) foreboding return to Amurao began with an eerie encounter with Beth’s (Charlie Dizon) daughter Chloe (Jewel Milag) and her friend Joshua (Lawrence Dela Cruz).
With the road overtaken by night, Chloe and Joshua walk along the street where Alice (Janella Salvador) currently resides. Behind them, Edong follows and asks if the house is indeed Alice’s.
Sensing imminent danger, Chloe pulls Joshua away from Edong. Panic-stricken and pursued by Edong, the kids break into a run—and in the ensuing chaos, Chloe is struck by a passing mini-truck.
Initially appearing shocked, Edong stops in his tracks but then laughs maliciously at the accident before him.
Mel’s “The One That Got Away” is Lucas
In the aftermath of Alice (Janella Salvador) and Beth’s (Charlie Dizon) exchange of tense remarks, Mel (Sue Ramirez) is left alone and later approaches Lucas (JM de Guzman) with a puzzling wistful expression.
She apologizes for Erica’s (Kaila Estrada) suspicions, but Lucas instead brings up their agreement that they shouldn’t be seeing each other.
Anguished and desperate, Mel admits she misses Lucas and attempts to kiss him, but he avoids it, merely reminding her of the reason he ended their relationship—for Mel and Anton’s (Jameson Blake) baby, whose life was cut short.
An oblivious Alice and a vengeful Edong are just a few steps apart
Following Chloe’s (Jewel Milag) accident, Edong (Jake Cuenca) reappears just outside Alice’s (Janella Salvador) house.
Exhausted and preoccupied, Alice arrives and recalls the last argument she had with a young Erica (Krystal Mejes), along with Beth (Allyson McBride) and Mel (Reich Alim). Upon her reunion with an adult Erica (Kaila Estrada), she momentarily relives the time when she failed to prevent Erica from leaving Amurao.
A worried Rose, her helper, asks if she’s okay and notifies Alice of Celestino’s (Bart Guingona) death. Alice remembers Beth’s (Charlie Dizon) assertions and receives the same details.
Ending the eventful night, Alice turns down a call from her husband, Scott (Mark Neumann).
Erica’s lone strength arises from the absence of her mother and Louisa
After 14 years, Erica (Kaila Estrada) finally returns to MABEL’s dream house. By the now-deteriorating swing area, she relishes the memory of herself, and a smoking Louisa (Mutya Orquia) sharing promises that they would leave Amurao together, seeing that the rest of their friends were moving to Manila for college.
Erica says that Annette (Sharmaine Suarez), her mother, is stern at the thought of her not going to college because she is “incapable” and should instead work. Annoyed, Louisa criticizes Erica’s mother and encourages Erica to pursue a path outside of their hometown even more.
After a few emotional moments of reminiscing, Erica then visits her old home. With a pain that lingers, she relives the time when her stepsister, Althea, gave her a birthday card and the day when she left.
Erica voiced her sorrows about her mother’s neglect of her, expressing that it wasn’t her fault that her dad left them. Taken aback, her mother only responds that he looks exactly like her—a possible reminder of him that she wants to forget.
At present, a grown-up Erica sees a happier version of her mother and her family. When Althea (Andi Abaya) notices her, she drives away, never looking back.
