Leaving viewers wide-eyed at Mel’s (Sue Ramirez) unexpected escape—especially after previous episodes built a sense of hopelessness—she finally gains courage, keeping a close watch on Anton’s (Jameson Blake) every move before he indulges in a fitness run, completely indifferent to Mel’s isolation.
As soon as Anton goes out of sight, Mel retrieves a photo frame hiding her cards, grabs her MABEL friendship necklace, and caps off her getaway with a fake 911 call about an overdosed patient, buying herself enough time.
Erica and Lucas know better than to trust each other
Straightaway, Erica (Kaila Estrada) begins verifying the list of locations Lucas (JM de Guzman) disclosed where Edong (Jake Cuenca) could be hiding.
Despite her resolve to help Lucas, she makes it a point not to trust him fully, knowing it’s wiser to use this chance to capture Edong to expose the shady workings inside Bagumbayan Prison. She also agrees with Marco’s (Race Matias) hunch that Lucas is devising a separate plan for Edong—one beyond their reach.
Similarly, in Lucas’s conversation with his informant, the latter questions whether Erica “bit the bait,” referring to her belief in Lucas’s compromise. Not fully convinced of Erica’s sudden cooperative spirit, Lucas instead focuses on the fact that he can access leads to their investigation through Erica and the NLEA, giving them a step ahead in tracking Edong.
Confirming Marco’s doubts, Lucas knows that Edong wouldn’t return to the list of places he gave Erica—his brother is far more cunning than people realize.
Mel’s escape triggers uptight reactions
Soon after Mel’s (Sue Ramirez) sharp-witted disappearance, Anton (Jameson Blake) goes up to her office and notices a small note from Mel indicating that he can’t ever control the whole of her.
Provoked yet trying to contain his emotions, he wastes no time confronting Tim (Dingdong Bahan) and Tom (Patrick Ramirez), speculating that Mel would have visited them for the schedules he had barred her from. Turning confused and slowly brimming with worry, Tom assumes that Mel might have been taken by the escaped convict, Edong (Jake Cuenca).
Not finding any sign of Mel at Alice’s (Janella Salvador) home, he rushes to Amurao High, where Beth (Charlie Dizon) is. His arrival stirs doubts in Beth, as he unknowingly lets some of his anger show, going white-knuckled as he grips Beth’s forearm just as she reaches for her phone—making sure she isn’t an accomplice to Mel’s getaway.
Following Anton’s abrupt arrival, Beth proceeds to call Alice, who then contacts Erica (Kaila Estrada), alerting NLEA officials. Adding to the frantic chain of events, Edong leaves Erica a vague call, taunting someone as a coward.
Beth is the talk of the town once more
The news of Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) return to Amurao frightens most of Beth’s (Charlie Dizon) co-teachers. Masking her worry, she tries to diffuse the situation, assuring them that the police force is currently on high alert for Edong—though this only drags her into deeper conflicts.
Fed up with the unfair accusations, Beth points to the Mayor, explaining that they had been advised to keep the issue secret to avoid inciting panic. Vivian, the other teacher she once clashed with, reprimands her again, emphasizing that Beth and her friends have always caused problems in Amurao.
In disbelief, Beth fires back, highlighting how they were able to protect the rest of Amurao by helping imprison Edong. As she nears the end of her explanation, Liezel (Mary Joy Apostol) appears troubled and exits the room, telling Beth that the uneasiness over Edong remains and that she wants to focus on her husband’s return instead.
While everyone wrestles with feelings of unrest, Chloe (Jewel Milag) and Joshua (Lawrence dela Cruz) gather their classmates to watch a video Chloe recorded about Edong, which soon reignites fears and warnings surrounding him.
Despite the ongoing trepidation, an unusual moment surrounds Beth shortly after. As she walks down the hall on her way to Principal Candelaria’s office, she receives cheerful and giddy greetings from her colleagues—a recognition caused by the famed Anton coming to visit her.
Alice contemplates keeping her problems to herself
Passing by the dream house they had been renovating together, Alice (Janella Salvador) recalls her session with her psychologist—how she has no one to talk to about her husband.
In spite of her good friendship with Beth (Charlie Dizon) and Mel (Sue Ramirez), she is still hesitant to lay bare her suspicions about Scott (Mark Neumann) and how she used the renovation as the reason for returning to the Philippines.
