Piolo Pascual and Joshua Garcia brought laughter and nostalgia when they joined the fun segment “Meet, Greet, or Bye” during their guesting on Kapamilya Chat.
In the game, the two Kapamilya actors were shown photos from their past projects and had to decide whether they would meet, greet, or say goodbye to their old characters.
The first photo featured Piolo’s role as Jules Bartolome, the idealistic activist son in the 2002 film, “Dekada ’70.” Piolo said he would love to meet Jules again to ask him to give advice to today’s generation.
“Kasi kailangan makita natin ‘yung activist heart natin, ‘yung love for the nation, love for what is right, and love for freedom,” Piolo shared, adding that he once met the real person who inspired Jules and was moved by his courage to fight for what was right.
Joshua’s first movie role was up next, showing his character Vince Arcilla from the 2016 film “Vince, Kath, and James.” The throwback earned laughs from both Piolo and Joshua, who fondly noticed how youthful he looked back then. Joshua chose to greet Vince, “Isa sa mga magagandang role ko na nagawa. Gusto ko lang siyang i-greet, kumustahin.”
When shown his character Lino in the 2004 film “Milan,” Piolo quickly said goodbye, describing Lino as “a bit of a loser” in the film.
Joshua opted to greet Patrick Gonzales from the Philippine adaptation of the series “It's Okay to Not Be Okay,” saying he’d like to catch up with him, “Kumustahan lang, kasi okay na siya ngayon after ng lahat ng mga mabibigat na nangyari sa kanya.”
Piolo once again said goodbye, this time to his character Marco Villanueva from “Starting Over Again” (2014), “He's already served his purpose, okay na siya at naka-move on na siya sa buhay… so, bye.” Piolo explained.
Lastly, Joshua jokingly said goodbye to Joseph Reyes, his character from the 2017 serye “The Good Son,” explaining that the character had already solved his case and found peace. “Nalutas na rin niya ‘yung kaso, nalaman na rin niya kung sinong pumatay sa magulang niya, kailangan na natin siyang pagpahingahin.”
Through the segment, Joshua and Piolo reflected on the wide range of roles they’ve portrayed, proof of their versatility as actors. And they’re set to showcase this even more in their latest film, “Meet, Greet & Bye.”
