Hopefully, Kuya’s ears survived all that screaming from his super excited housemates!
After a night filled with tension and emotions from the first nomination, the "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" Gen Z housemates woke up to a totally different vibe that was full of giddiness, squeals, and fangirl/fanboy chaos, thanks to a surprise wake-up call in the form of the movie trailer “Meet, Greet & Bye” playing on the living room TV.
In the November 11 episode, Princess Aliyah and Ashley Sarmiento were on cloud nine as they could feel in their hearts that they were about to see their ultimate celebrity crushes, Piolo Pascual and Joshua Garcia, two of the main cast members of the said movie.
They were literally jumping and shrieking non-stop when Kuya called then into the confession room and revealed a fun activity where the housemates would be split into Team Meet and Team Greet, each joined by a celebrity cast member from “Meet, Greet & Bye” as the team captains. But the catch was that the teams would be in different areas, and only the winning side would get to meet both celebrity guests in person.
During the draw, Ashley and Eliza landed on Team Meet alongside Waynona Collings, Eliza Borromeo, Krystal Mejes, Fred Moser, Lee Victor, Rave Victoria, John Clifford, and Marco Masa. Meanwhile, Team Greet’s members were Anton Vinzon, Iñigo Jose, Joaquin Arce, Caprice Cayetano, Lella Ford, Heath Jornales, Miguel Vergara, Carmelle Collado, and Reich Alim.
Little did the housemates know, the very guests they were waiting for— Piolo and Joshua—were already inside the confession room, catching up with Big Brother.
The two looked back on the time they first crossed paths in the “PBB” house more than a decade ago, when Joshua was still a housemate and Piolo dropped by as a guest. Piolo admitted he barely remembered Joshua’s presence since he only stayed for a few hours and he had his attention on Maris Racal. OG fans probably haven’t forgotten that Piolo and Maris sang together back then.
Kuya recalled how Joshua used to be the quiet, super shy, and sleepy one back in the day. Joshua laughed it off, saying nothing’s changed, but Piolo had to disagree, pointing out that his co-star, who once stayed in the background, is now front and center. Talk about a full-circle moment for Joshua!
And then, the whole house exploded in excitement when Team Meet saw their team captain, Piolo, waiting in the living room. Princess felt like she saw a miracle the moment she laid her eyes on Piolo, whom she called the perfect definition of “TMH,” or tall, mestizo, and handsome. The "Royal Songstress" already felt like a winner even before the game started!
Meanwhile, Ashley had mixed feelings when Kuya announced that Joshua would be the team captain of the other group in the other room. "No'ng nalaman ko na nasa kabila 'yung asawa... ay, asawa ko?" she said playfully, "medyo parang na-betray ako, parang na-stab ako sa puso pero kailangan ko ngumiti kasi ang pogi din naman talaga [ni Piolo]. Aarte pa ba ako, Kuya? Siyempre, hindi na 'no!"
Turns out, Caprice Cayetano’s instincts were spot on! All that effort she put into studying the trailer of Piolo and Joshua’s movie actually came in handy for their special task called the “Meet & Greet Memory Quiz Game.”
In the challenge, Kuya gave five questions about the "Meet, Greet & Bye" trailer, and the housemates had to form their answers using letter magnets. The team captains picked two players to answer per round, and while they could help think of the answers, only the housemates could stick the letters onto the board.
In the first round alone, Princess was literally shaking with excitement when Piolo picked her and Ashley to play, while Joshua chose Caprice and Carmelle Collado for his team. Piolo’s Team Meet earned the first point.
The game felt so thrilling as both groups were placed in separate rooms, meaning they couldn’t see how the other team was doing and could only wait for Kuya’s updates. The scores went back and forth, and the teams ended up tied with two points each by the fourth question. By the fifth and final round, Ashley was already a bundle of nerves!
You know who won? It was Team Greet, led by Joshua! Princess was overjoyed to have spent time with her crush, Piolo, but she also felt a little sad for her friend Ashley, who probably wouldn't get a chance to see Joshua at all.
As the winning Team Greet spent time chatting with the celebrity houseguests, Kuya called Joshua into the confession room where special gifts were waiting for the team. He assigned Joshua to hand them out to the housemates.
The first gift was lechon, which is featured in the movie "Meet, Greet & Bye" (this is a huge deal since the housemates have no weekly food budget after losing their task). The second gift was a set of photos of Team Greet’s moms.
Piolo and Joshua reminded everyone to always cherish how their moms raised them, especially now that they’re in this coming-of-age stage of their lives. As for their advice about the housemates’ stay, they encouraged them to enjoy the moment and avoid conflicts.
Before the guests said their goodbyes, Kuya had one last surprise for the losing Team Meet—they were given 100 seconds to see them, and Ashley made the most of it, as she scored a hug from Joshua.
But of course, Ashley and Princess’s fangirl hearts weren’t done yet! Kuya asked them to escort Piolo and Joshua to the confession room, and before leaving, the two leading men gave them the jackets they were wearing, souvenirs the girls will probably never wash and never get tired of sniffing.
Joshua said he thought of giving his jacket because it reminded him of his "PBB" experience years ago, when host Robi Domingo gifted him a pair of shorts that he still keeps until now.
