After finding a trembling Alice (Janella Salvador) inside a shooting range, Edward (Joel Molina) takes care of her at home with his wife, Christina.
He mentions to Alice that her mother, Susan (Carlene Aguilar), called earlier to tell him about Alice fleeing from her husband, Scott (Mark Neumann). Concerned, he asks Alice if she has ever been abused.
Without responding in detail, Alice instead starts recounting the ongoing dispute between her and Scott, particularly with his possible infidelity. She vividly recalls the fact that Scott's family has never been fond of her and the times when Scott would firmly grab her—until one moment when he pushed Alice with such force that a vase broke.
As Alice’s resurfacing memories come to a close, she thinks about the incident wherein she demanded a divorce from Scott, who in turn threatened to take full custody of Seth (Rhys Stevens).
After hearing Alice’s narrative, Edward questions if she really believes that Scott would intentionally hurt her, along with his alleged affair. In tears, Alice pleads with her uncle to believe her, stressing how Scott might have gotten impatient to bring Seth with him.
Edward, who is still skeptical, challenges Alice’s assertion, saying that if it were true, the intruder’s actions would not be consistent with the intention of taking Seth away.
Christina asks for Edward just as Alice is beginning to contemplate. In a poignant turn of events, Christina only remembers Alice when she was sixteen.
After putting Christina to sleep, Edward leaves Alice with a heartfelt reminder about her relationship with Scott, particularly wishing her to be completely certain before ending their marriage.
