Just like their characters Arissa Trinidad and Enzo Rivera in the ABS-CBN Studios primetime series “Sins of the Father”, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin have also been getting closer and closer with each other as time goes by.
And we’ve witnessed how their closeness has already gotten to a different level during their latest guesting on Kapamilya Chat, wherein they didn’t just discuss their stints in the series but also took on different challenges specially prepared for them, through which we got to know them better as individual actors and as a love team.
One of the games they enthusiastically played was the “Sins of FranSeth Challenge,” in which they opened up about how they become “sinful” in the given situations. The first one was in terms of “budgeting money,” with Seth pointing at Francine when she was about to speak.
According to her, Seth has taught her to never skimp herself when it comes to food, as she tends to not buy anymore once she sees that the food she’s craving is expensive. But she confessed that, between the two of them, it’s she who is indeed inclined to “sin” in budgeting, as she purchases stuff that she both wants and needs, such as makeup and clothes. Whenever he catches her gazing at stores that offer those, Seth immediately pulls her away because he knows all too well that once she enters, it’s going to take a lot of time for them to come out.
Seth, on the other hand, admitted that he used to be an impulsive buyer in the past, with Francine revealing that he actually bought a camera just because. He went on to add that just like some of us, he has also been healing his inner child by buying stuff he used to be deprived of when he was still a kid, like Nerf gun and other toys, which he only displays inside his room. Francine mentioned that she also does the same by scoring a Barbie doll.
They then shared that Seth has been consulting her recently about acquiring a new car, with Francine repeatedly telling him, “Ikaw bahala.” But Seth stressed that he’s already at the point in his life when he’s more focused on the “needs” than the “wants.”
When it comes to spoiling their loved ones, Francine confessed that she’s the type to be “all out,” especially during special occasions. She’s willing to spend the money she has earned for the entire year to buy gifts she thinks will make the people dear to her happy.
Being the eldest among his siblings, Seth imparted that he’s more of the practical type as he tends to ask and ponder first if the things he and his family are going to spend money on are needed or not. Therefore, he expresses gratitude for his siblings' shared perspective and their ability to find contentment in their possessions.
However, he clarified that he still doesn’t forget to treat his family from time to time by taking them to posh restaurants and places. He went on to commend Francine for being able to spoil her family by providing the stuff they wanted and taking them on various trips here and abroad.
And lastly, when it comes to “sinning” against themselves, Seth confessed that he feels like “sinning” for not believing in his own capabilities. This prompted Francine to interject, saying that it’s something that she doesn’t like about him, so she tends to rebuke him whenever he self-deprecates.
“Naiintindihan ko naman saan ‘yong pinanggagalingan. Pero because of other people na maraming sinasabi, nakakain siya no’n at hindi siya makalabas. Na-o-occupy masyado no’n ang isip niya, nafe-feel niya,” she explained.
Seth related that the thought of being good enough actually helps him to stay grounded, although there were instances that it really affected him negatively. He is also disposed to reject the praise he receives from other people regarding his performances because of it, yet it actually motivates him to do better in his job.
As the host mentioned how important it is to have people in our lives who will constantly support us and boost our confidence, he shared that Francine is one of them. According to him, she always reminds him that he does great and that’s already enough for him.
Francine, on the other hand, shared that others may perceive or think of her as “OA,” or “overacting,” but she expounded that it’s the curse of her being an overthinker, observant, and insensitive.
“They don’t know how it feels kasi. Pero siyempre, ia-adjust mo rin kasi hindi naman lahat mag-a-adjust sa’yo. So, sa katahimikan mo na ‘yon, mas nararamdaman mo kasi tahimik ka na and, at the same time, you are trying to understand what’s going on around you and you’re trying to understand the people that caused the pain,” she conveyed.
