As the weekly task continued, Eliza Borromeo, Anton, Sofia, and task leaders Caprice Cayetano and Iñigo Jose first took on the challenge of carrying the big candelabra. The group’s strategy was to position the stronger housemates, Iñigo and Anton, on both ends, while the more petite Caprice stood at the center to balance the weight. But just on their first attempt to lift up the candelabra, one of the candles in front of task leader Iñigo toppled over.
Although frustrated, Iñigo composed himself, accepted what happened, and said sorry. The group decided not to replace him. According to Iñigo and Caprice, they intentionally joined the first round so they could personally experience the task and figure out what adjustments or strategies would work best for the next teams.
After more than an hour, Anton switched places with Marco Masa to stretch his arms and recover. Midway through the task, Sofia accidentally let out a sigh, which caused the flame of the candle in front of her to go out. From there, the housemates began rotating and switching positions more carefully.
During the first few hours of the candelabra challenge, two out of the twenty candles had already gone out, one of them caused by Sofia, who didn’t realize she had exhaled a little too strongly, putting out the flame right in front of her.
