As he noticed how their son, Rockyboy (Baron Geisler), has been disrespecting her ever since she returned to their house, Brando (Roi Vinzon) expressed his dismay towards him during his conversation with Divina (Rosanna Roces).
But Divina implied that he didn’t have to feel that way since she completely understands where their son is coming from. She abandoned him when he was still a kid, with no mother figure to watch over him nor guide him as he grew up. Then she suddenly went back to his life now that he’s already an adult, as if nothing had happened.
Brando advised her to give Rockyboy a little more time for him to be able to forgive her and allow her to make up to him, which Divina had been yearning for. He went on to suggest for her to have their son involved in her business by teaching him how to manage it, in hopes that doing so might bring them closer to each other.
Unfortunately for them, Rockyboy was apparently not keen on rekindling his relationship with Divina, nor is he interested in taking part in her business, conveying that it was her whom he needed the most for the past years and not the wealth that she promises to bequeath to him someday. Besides, he now already has other sources of income, so he doesn’t have time for this kind of “family drama” anymore.
Obviously displeased by his behavior, Brando grabbed Rockyboy by the neckline of his shirt and warned him about disrespecting Divina again in his presence. This triggered Rockyboy to lash out and insult Divina, which caused Brando to punch him in the face. Brando tried to coerce him to forgive Divina, but Rockyboy told him that it wouldn’t be easy for him, considering what she had done in the past. Thus, for the sake of somehow granting his father’s request, Rockyboy sarcastically thanked her for coming back to them and welcomed her to their house, then bade his father adieu.
