The October 25 episode of “Rainbow Rumble” was definitely filled to the brim with entertainment as it brought together four of the eight “Your Face Sounds Familiar” celebrity performers—namely, Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, JM dela Cerna, and Rufa Mae Quinto. It also featured “Ka-Familiar Online Live” host and former “Rainbow Rumble” rally winner, AC Soriano.
Sharing their thoughts on their slight letdowns after not reaching the jackpot round, Dia Mate and Jarlo Base, looked at their defeat with optimism. “Nalungkot ako na hindi umabot. Pero, okay lang naman kasi deserve naman ni AC,” Dia said.
Jarlo shared Dia’s sentiments and both were impressed by AC’s quick thinking. He was also satisfied about being able to answer the adrenaline-filled questions. “Hindi ko in-expect na gano’n karami ‘yung masasagot ko pala,” Jarlo added.
Dia brought up the need for a more immediate reaction time with the swipe sensors when the subject of the game’s challenges was brought up.
On the other hand, Jarlo said it wasn’t always easy to chime in or add to the fun during the game. “Mapapa-audience impact ka na lang… Minsan nape-pressure ako na, ‘May kailangan ba akong sabihin?’” he shared.
As one would expect, “Rainbow Rumble” doesn’t fall short when it comes to imparting lessons.
Dia emphasized that even though one knows the answers, it’s important to practice one’s reaction time. Jarlo also pointed out the crucial role of stock knowledge in the game, proof that he’s smarter than he thinks.
AC, the two-time Rally Winner who also participated in the game back in 2024, playfully expressed, “Baka third time’s the charm, sabi nga ni Pia Wurtzbach. Second time ko [na ito, pero] hindi ko pa rin nakuha ang one million na sana ma-earn ko rin some other way.”
When questioned about how he prepared for the game, he explained that because of its high degree of unpredictability, he didn't take any review sessions or refresher courses. “Parang kahit anong ibato sa’yo dapat kailangan mo siyang sagutin and parang hindi mo magagawa ‘yun kung magre-review ka ng something na certain,” he stressed.
