Life has been nothing but trials and tribulations for Tanggol (Coco Martin) lately in "FPJ's Batang Quiapo." The burdens have become so heavy that we don't even see him smile again. Don’t we all miss the good old days when life was simpler, smiles came easy, and Mokang (Lovi Poe) brought out his hilarity? Let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive some of their feel-good moments that revealed Tangol's funny side.

Remember when Tanggol and his gang loitered by the sari-sari store while Mokang’s debut preparations were in full swing? Chicky (Toni Fowler), Mokang’s sassy best friend, approached them and warned them not to make trouble after they splashed 'tubig-kanal' at Mokang's male guests the previous day. She then asked the vendor for bread and soda, so Tanggol proudly volunteered to pay. Chicky asked, “Saan galing 'yan?” And with a grin that spells pure mischief, he replied, “Saan pa? Eh, ‘di sa nakaw.”

Who could forget their 'tambay kwentuhan' at the same corner store, where Tanggol’s smooth-talking ways were on full display? After Mokang thanked him for saving her from her classmate JP (Dino Imperial)'s abuses, Tanggol delivered a line so smooth, saying, “Mga bata pa lang tayo, handa na kitang ipagtanggol kahit kanino. Ngayon pa na nagdalaga ka na, pwede ka na tapos uunahan ako ng iba. Huy! Hindi pwede ‘yun.” Mokang could barely react before Tanggol added, “Syempre, ikaw ang magiging ina ng mga anak ko.” When Mokang’s jaw dropped, Tanggol grinned, “Wala akong gusto sa’yo, pagnanasa meron.” He used to be the king of witty banter, indeed.

There was a also a scene where Mokang joined Tanggol’s barkada for a drinking session. The playful teasing flew everywhere, and then Mokang jestingly asked why Tanggol keeps staring at her. Tanggol declared, “Nagugutom ako. Gusto kitang gawing kanin at saka ulam.” Mokang blushed, prompting Tanggol to tease, “Pag ito nalasing mamaya, in love na sa akin ‘to.” We know the cast doesn’t usually follow a script, which made this exchange more natural and hilarious.

In another round of drinks, the gang fantasized about hitting it big and promised they'd bring Mokang with them once they become rich men. Tanggol, ever the joker, turned to Mokang with a mock-serious question: “Open-minded ka ba?” like he was a networking recruiter. That simple 'hirit' sparked an entire conversation of laugh-out-loud moments.

These scenes make us want to see the carefree, mischievous Tanggol again. Don't miss an episode of "FPJ's Batang Quiapo," weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
