A dashing heartthrob who can excellently do drama, romance, and action? Well, there are just several of them in the local entertainment scene and one of them is definitely Richard Gutierrez.
He may have been in front of the camera ever since he was a kid, but it was only in 2017 that Kapamilyas got to see more of his acting prowess when he transferred to ABS-CBN. And this 2025, he’s about to astound us anew with another surefire portrayal via the highly anticipated teleserye, “Incognito.”
But before we get to see him take on his newest character, let us revisit his notable performances as a Kapamilya in this feature.
Richard kicked off his Kapamilya era through his stint in the 2017 fantasy-action series “La Luna Sangre,” wherein he captivated us as the main antagonist Sandrino, the “supreme vampire” who the characters of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo had to defeat. Through this series, which served as his reunion project with former loveteam partner Angel Locsin, he was able to impress viewers with his flair in taking on villain roles and action scenes.
In 2019, he went on to charm us with his appearance in the “Hot Choco” episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” wherein he was paired with Kapamilya actress Elisse Joson. They didn’t just bring kilig vibes with their unmistakable chemistry but also delighted audiences with their portrayal of Tito and Shareena, who had to navigate life as a couple in a May-December affair and in a cohabiting relationship.
The following year, Richard reprised his bad-guy image via his special and remarkable participation in the long-running hit series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” He portrayed Lito Valmoria, the old friend-turned-beau of Alyana (Yassi Pressman), who was obsessed with taking her back, making him an instant rival of Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) in the new chapter of the action-drama series. At the same time, his presence was also a huge obstacle for Cardo and his group in accomplishing their mission.
It seemed that his stint in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” served as his preparation for his first-ever Kapamilya solo-starrer, “The Iron Heart,” playing the role of assassin and drug syndicate leader Apollo Adelantar. Aside from swooning us with his handsome physique, Richard further amazed viewers with his skills in doing awesome stunts and handling guns as his character figured in a slew of combats in his aggressive pursuit of infiltrating and exacting revenge on the syndicate involved in the tragic murder of his adoptive father.
And soon, we’re about to see the action star facet of Richard Gutierrez anew via ABS-CBN Studios’ first-ever teleserye offering in 2025—“Incognito.” It will premiere January 20 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
