There’s an oft-quoted adage that says, “Love is sweeter the second time around.” And this speaks true to “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” couple, Primo and Amanda, portrayed by veteran actors Lito Lapid and Lorna Tolentino, who are given the chance to continue their impeded love story as fate brought them back to each other’s arms again—yet with a totally tough twist.

Those who were able to follow their romance would probably recall that they used to be secret lovers in their younger years. Both of them used to work for the crime syndicate led by Augustus (Dominic Roco/Julio Diaz), with Amanda being his partner and Primo being his most trusted right-hand. Amanda learned about Augustus’ plan to kill Primo, so she was left with no other choice but to report to the police in pursuit of saving Primo from imminent death, which led to his arrest.
Just when Primo thought that Amanda betrayed him, he eventually found out the whole truth when they got reunited after years of being separated from each other. Decades might have already passed, but the love they have for one another remained, so they were able to rekindle their relationship.
However, the pair had to go through a lot of obstacles before they were able to attain the freedom to pursue their romance, with Primo having to fight tooth and nail just to take her and her family away from the grip of Augustus with the help of his friends. Primo might have succeeded in taking back Amanda but not in saving her family, who Augustus mercilessly killed as a way of striking back at them and showing them his might.
