Judy Ann Santos took on the "Drink It" Challenge and kept it real with sass!
Having navigated through the highs and lows of the entertainment industry, Judy Ann is well acquainted with the loud opinions that flood social media. But with years of experience and self-assurance, she's learned to handle it all with grace.
Taking on a fun game on Kapamilya Chat, where she was asked a series of juicy questions and had to gulp down a mystery drink if she chose not to answer, one question she faced had her recalling the worst comment she had ever read about herself online. And, as expected, she didn't flinch.
Well, the truth is she's no longer bothered by these harsh words as she has fully accepted that everyone now has an opinion, and it's up to her whether she'll let it affect her. After all, she’s not the type anymore to stoop to anyone’s level and engage in petty drama.
However, there's this one particular comment that still cracks her up to this day. It was when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram shortly after giving birth, and then a netizen left a remark, “Bakit ang taba mo pa rin?” It would've been easier to ignore if she hadn’t been dealing with postpartum hormonal rollercoaster. But it got under her skin a little, so she responded with her signature sass: "Ay! Sorry! 'Di bale, 'pag magpapapayat na ako sasabihan kita. Hindi ko alam na dapat aware ka pala."
With that, she reminded viewers to be more mindful of their words. While she’s grown immune to bashing over the years, she made it clear that artists, like everyone else, are still human and deserve respect—especially new moms. "Huwag na huwag n'yong sasabihang mataba ang bagong panganak," she emphasized.
The Queen of Philippine Soap Opera also recalled an interview when she mentioned that she now only takes on projects with substantial material that justifies being away from her kids. A netizen reacted, "Wow! Para namang ang daming projects na nag-aabang sa kanya." Judy Ann couldn’t help but laugh at the comment, thinking to herself, "'Te, hindi ka kasama sa management team ko. Huwag kang magsalita nang ganyan!" She chose not to engage because, deep down, it’s easy for her to let those petty comments slide.
But if anyone drags her children into these negativities, that would be a different story, and she wouldn't hesitate to unleash her inner beast.
In the next rounds of the challenge, Judy Ann, who topbills the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry "Espantaho," was dared to name the actor she’s still terrified to work with, and with all honesty, she said that there’s really no one anymore. She admittedly used to be intimidated when she was younger, but that's definitely no longer the case. She sure has grown so much with age and experience!
Then came a random question about the biggest love lesson she’s learned, and she kept it simple yet resonant: “Love is forgiving.”
But just when we thought she was going to tackle every question head-on, Judy Ann surprised us by choosing to drink when asked to pick between an acting career or one as an entrepreneur. Clearly, she’s passionate about both, so rather than stress over a tough decision, she opted for a shot of calamansi juice.
