Ever since it premiered in July 2024, “Rainbow Rumble” has become one of our favorite weekend night habits, as it never failed to bring laughter and excitement to viewers. We have probably found ourselves enthusiastically responding to the trivia questions, as well as laughing at the lighthearted moments of its hosts Luis Manzano and Negi with one another and/or with their guests.
And this year, we’d indeed witnessed a lot of hilarious moments between Rumble Master Luis and Ka-Rambol Negi—seven of those we collated in this special feature!
As Rumbler Joro imparted that she’s been in a 12-year (and counting!) relationship, Negi sought some pieces of advice from her, to which Luis laughingly commented, “Huwag mong ifu-fully paid agad ang mga motor. Hintayin mong umabot muna ng mga taon.”
Not a lot of people apparently know that Negi has also dabbled into politics. Thus, in one of the episodes wherein one of the contestants is a professor, Luis quizzed Negi what his platforms are. One of them, according to Negi, is changing the traditional signage “Bawal umihi rito, may multa” to “Bawal umihi rito, may multo,” which had viewers bursting into laughter.
Since it's common for celebrities like them to encounter bashers, especially on social media, Luis asked Rumbler and stand-up comedian James Caraan to share one of his unforgettable experiences in dealing with a toxic netizen. As he mentioned calling that person “baduy” for always wearing coordinated or terno outfits, Negi obviously got ‘offended’ since he was wearing a pair of sweatpants and hoodie jacket with rubber duckies design during that time, which made Luis warn James to think first before dropping a joke.
While Negi is often the laughingstock, there are instances when it was Luis who became the butt of the jokes—unintentionally. As Negi was being asked by Luis to give a forecast on who he thought among the contestants would ace the game, he subconsciously remarked if it was already mango season as he talked about his fellow comedian Ayee. Luis took ‘offense’ to it, with Negi immediately apologizing to him upon realizing his ‘mistake.’
After “High Street” stars Tommy Alejandrino and Ralph De Leon both uttered wrong answers to the trivia question, “Sinong singer ang kilala bilang The Divine Diva?” Luis couldn’t help but ‘lose’ his cool. Thus, as a way of containing his temper, he asked Negi for his shoes and threw them away.
He might appear happy, but Rumbler Chad Kinis was actually nursing a broken heart, according to his comedian-friends Negi and Divine Tetay, since he just broke up with his boyfriend. Chad was further put in the hot seat as Luis mentioned bumping into him and his “special someone” while in Batangas, which he revealed was only a "relative" of his.
And lastly, we’ve heard Luis a lot of times jokingly express his wish to replace Negi as his co-host in the show, especially every time Negi would poke fun at him. One of those instances was when Negi regarded him as a service crew at a food chain, which seemingly didn’t sit well on him. Thus, he announced right there and then that they were already looking for a new co-host, to which Team Payaman’s Krissy Achino conveyed interest.
We’re definitely looking forward to more fun moments like this in “Rainbow Rumble” in 2025!
