For Jas Dudley-Scales, scuba diving feels like swimming back into her roots.
Scuba diving might seem like an intimidating activity for many. Descending into the vast, mysterious depths of the underwater world can trigger feelings of fear and discomfort. But for Jas of “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11,” scuba diving is not only a relaxing experience. It's also a legacy she's carrying on for someone she holds dear. Yup, you read that right—she is a certified scuba diver! Read on and check out this exclusive video to discover more about her journey underwater!
Water is truly Jas's element. She's a 'water baby,' as Gen Zs would call someone who's very comfortable in the aquatic environment. It’s because her deceased father was a diving instructor, and her family used to live near the beach. "Growing up, ever since I was a little child, feeling ko mas nauna pa akong na-immerse sa tubig kaysa nakalakad talaga sa dumi."
But it was only during the pandemic, when she had more time on her hands, that Jas truly embraced her passion for diving. "Although wala na 'yung dad ko, I felt like that was the perfect time for me and my younger brother to really continue the legacy that my dad left."
Now, all three of the Dudley-Scales siblings are certified scuba divers, and together, they carry on their dad’s love for the ocean. Scuba diving has become more than just a sport for Jas; it’s a way to honor a loved one and share something special with her family.
