In this “Yes Way or No Way” Challenge, “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” 3rd Big Placer Kolette Madelo opens up about her personal beliefs, principles, and quirks by answering random situations with a simple 'yes' or 'no,' and explaining why she's all for it—or totally not. Hint: her answers reveal a woman who knows exactly who she is and is proud to live by her values, no matter what.
“Yes way” to acts of kindness! One of the best answers from Kolette was when she said 'yes' to spending a day doing random acts of kindness for strangers. Given how big-hearted she is, helping others is second nature to her. “Ako po talaga, sa totoo lang, sumasakit 'yung damdamin ko 'pag nakakakita ako ng taong nasa kalye nanghihingi ng pera o pagkain. Kung meron lang akong pera, bibigyan ko talaga sila,” she shares."
While many from this generation can’t survive a day without their mobile phones, Kolette dares to be different, as she's willing to give it up even for a month, especially after experiencing life without gadgets inside the Bahay Ni Kuya. “Marami kang matututunan. Marami kang ma-a-appreciate. Marami ka rin madi-discover sa sarili mo 'pag wala kang cell phone,” she says. And with her experience, she knows how freeing it can be. “It's not a good thing din na super babad ka sa cell phone kasi marami kang hindi magagawa n'yan. Kahit maghugas ng plato, 'Mamaya na 'yan.' Wala na, nag-cell phone ka na lang.”
On the flip side, she replies, “no way,” when asked if she could spend a day without checking social media—well, at least not for now. Because she’s been enjoying reading public comments about her, whether positive or negative.
Meanwhile, this brave gal reveals she's totally game for watching horror movies alone at night. In fact, it's her go-to way to fall asleep. If she's not watching one, she imagines that there are ghosts around her to force herself to close her eyes.
She also says “yes way” when asked if she could whip a meal using only five ingredients. After her experience of cooking and eating with limited supplies inside Big Brother’s house, this should come easy to her now.
When asked if she could write a whole song in just an hour, Kolette leans toward “no way” for now, since she’s not yet at that level of songwriting. While she can write songs, she still takes time to create one.
Her fans will surely love her thoughts about receiving presents. She says that she would truly appreciate and use any gift, no matter how inexpensive it may be. There's no way she would pretend to like a gift if she didn’t, because she'll genuinely love it from the moment she receives it.
When asked if she would ever change her style to become more popular, Kolette’s answer was a firm “no way.” She’s grown so confident that she's now sure she doesn’t need to change anything about herself to be accepted. Besides, her supporters have already proven that they love her just the way she is.
This confidence also extends to her beliefs, which she would never alter just to conform. Kolette has had quite a long journey of discovering her true self, so she wouldn't allow anyone to break her core just to fit in.
Another example of Kolette not being swayed by trends is when she says there’s no way she would pull a harmless prank on a friend, even though pranks are popular nowadays. She knows that even playful jokes can hurt people, and that’s something she doesn't want to happen.
Always one to be honest, Kolette also shared that there's no way she would pretend she's okay when she's not because she values being open about her feelings. However, there are moments when she feels the need to hide her true emotions for the sake of maintaining peace with others. For instance, in certain situations inside the “PBB Gen 11” house, instead of arguing when she was frustrated, she chose to remain silent to keep everything calm.
