As a professional singer, Karylle never failed to impress us with her amazing talent in music in all of her Magpasikat performances. Given that it is one of her strongest talent, she always used her voice and her songwriting skills as her ultimate weapon in competing in the Magpasikat week each year.  As they are grouped randomly each year, she also showed us her versatility to give happiness and entertainment to the madlang people.

In Karylle’s very first Magpasikat performance back in 2011, she was not paired with any of her other co-hosts. Nevertheless, she took the opportunity of doing a solo act to let her talent as a musical artist shine on stage. She gave a 3-in-1 production number, where she presented her DJ skills, hip-hop dancing flair and percussion talent. Although her incredible performance that reverberated different kind of beats and sounds did not land her a top place that year, she certainly gave a hint that she would be one.

In 2012, Karylle joined forces with Anne Curtis to give us one spectacular performance that highlighted their flexibility. She gave us one thrilling circus experience on television together with Anne, who we know is It’s Showtimes “Stunt Princess”. As their number paid tribute to the four elements of nature (land, fire, air, water), they did some jaw-dropping acts that included eating tamilok (or shipworm) and crickets, fire dancing, aerial acrobatics, and synchronized swimming. With their heart-stopping circus performance, their tandem tied with Team Jugs-Teddy and Team Billy-Vhong as champions that year.

A bewildering performance is what Karylle gave us when she first teamed up with the rock tandem Jugs and Teddy. Their group sang a gibberish song, made a total mess on stage and left everyone confused with what took place. When the video of their live performance was played reversely, that was when everyone realized that they actually gave a lively performance of It’s Showtime’s theme song. Their mind-blowing number made them the Magpasikat 2013 grand champion.

For her Magpasikat performance in 2014, Karylle paired with the brainy Kuya Kim Atienza. Despite not placing that year, they delivered a very amusing yet outstandingly educational performance together, where they incorporated some easy to do and eco-friendly scientific experiments while singing a medley of hit songs. Their performance showed us how to glow amidst dark lighting effects, a tissue confetti machine, and many more. They ended with a bang as Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao gave a special appearance, singing Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”.

Pairing with Jhong Hilario in Magpasikat 2015, Karylle started to establish her mark of producing original skits and songs for her Magpasikat performances. She and Jhong performed an emotional all-original musical theater-style play, which features a heart-breaking tale of two siblings who got separated and became victims of a robbing syndicate group. Karylle played as the younger sibling named Isay while Jhong acted as her older brother named Kiko. Throughout their performance, Karylle’s husband and Spongecola member Yael Yuzon had a special participation as a member of the live band. Captivating everyone’s hearts, they placed second that year.

Teaming up with the rock tandem Jugs and Teddy for the second time, Karylle went all-out in exuding her singing prowess. With the three of them as critically acclaimed OPM artists, they have all of the Madlang People transported in an electronic Pinoy music festival. Their teammate Mariel Rodriguez did all of the introduction parts in their performance through a taped video, as they blasted a great party inside the studio. Their crazy, groovy performance named them as the third placer in Magpasikat 2016.

Pairing for the second time in 2017, Karylle gave another all-original musical play with Jhong Hilario. This time, they presented a one-of-a-kind love story between two different insects: a conceited caterpillar played by Karylle and a lowly cockroach played by Jhong. Peculiar as it could be, their presentation showed that appearances or social status shouldn’t really matter when you found true love. Their heartwarming, colorful performance made them place third that year.

In 2018, when Karylle and Jhong Hilario joined forces for the third time, they both knew that their unique musical play was meant to have a sequel. Their “higad-ipis” love story that led to an offspring called “ipad” leveled up and discussed about some of society’s most relevant issues in this generation, namely bullying which results to identity crisis and gender equality. With their inspiring story about how self-love could help solve the problem, their duo emerged as Magpasikat 2018’s grand champion.

In her 2019 team up with Ryan Bang, Karylle spearheaded a splendid, rousing musical performance. Featuring the heartwarming story of Ryan, Karylle and the rest of her team gave us a superb production number that told a message of hope to everyone who aspires to achieve great things in life.

Like what they say, the key to success is by capitalizing on your skills and passion. In all her Magpasikat performances, we saw how Karylle used her gift in music in succeeding each year. Indeed, she has made her mark as an unparalleled multi-talented diva of the It’s Showtime family.
