While we already know how great and serious singers, and maybe even songwriters, they are, it’s probably seldom for us to see the playful and comedic facets of our favorite Kapamilya divas, Morissette Amon, Angeline Quinto, Jona, KZ Tandingan, and Moira Dela Torre.
And we’re able to witness those sides of them through their respective guestings on “Gandang Gabi Vice,” as they gamely accepted the hardest yet funniest singing challenges of the Unkabogable Star. Prepare to be amazed and sing your hearts out as we revisit those droll and remarkable moments in this edition of GGV Toplist!
Commencing this list is Morissette Amon, whose rendition of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” got trending a few years ago. Thus, to further put her singing chops to the test, Vice made her sing while sitting on a short stool, lying face down on the floor, and wearing a mouthpiece, which she all effortlessly nailed!
Vice then dared her close friend Angeline Quinto to a challenging version of the “Kalerki-Oke!" game, in which she had to belt out her hit song “Patuloy Ang Pangarap” while lying down on five adjacent standard stools that were removed one by one. It didn’t only test her vocal power, but also her physical stamina and sense of balance as the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs was able to complete the challenge and win the prize for her fans.
Another Birit Queen to take on GGV’s singing challenge was Jona, who was able to prove that she’s indeed the Fearless Diva by taking on the Unkabogable Star’s dare to belt out Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s “Shine” while in an upside-down position. And she astonishingly did it, prompting the studio audiences to give her a standing ovation and Vice to commend her.
After her trending and amazing performance of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” in the Chinese singing competition “The Singer” in 2018, the Unkabogable Star requested KZ Tandingan to sing it as well during her appearance on GGV’s 8th anniversary special in 2019. But the catch, she had to do it while inside a Zorb ball and being repeatedly rolled by the show’ jesters. The Asia’s Soul Supreme was able to pull it off, along with her mind-blowing rap.
And lastly, she may be known for her hugot songs, but Moira Dela Torre proved how versatile and strong she is as she accepted GGV’s challenge of singing Yano’s “Banal na Aso, Santong Kabayo” while running on a treadmill. As Vice constantly changed the speed of her run, the talented singer-songwriter was able to keep up not just with the pace but with the song’s tempo as well.
