“Tayo Sa Wakas” is finally showing in cinemas! But before arriving in this fateful destination, with audiences finally getting to meet her character Cheska Alegre on the big screen, Belle Mariano first reflected on the unforgettable journey she shared with her co-star Donny Pangilinan and director Cathy Garcia-Sampana in making their new film.
Belle sat down and looked back on her fruitful experience filming “Tayo Sa Wakas” in our latest episode of “Reel Revelations”, a Star Cinema exclusive video series that weaves heartfelt discussions with behind-the-scenes footage.
Whether it’s Belle fostering even more special relationships on set or portraying one that has reached its breaking point, watch her discuss what it’s like to take on her most challenging role yet — all in her very own words!
Introducing Cheska as enthusiastic and selfless
At the core of Cheska as a character is how she loves hard and sees the best in people.
Cheska leads with an unshakeable sense of joy and altruism. “Malapit [s’ya] sa pamilya,” Belle noted. “Every time she finds herself in love, she gives so much of herself.”
Though admirable, Cheska’s giving nature has its limitations too, even to the point of stretching herself thin. “Minsan, hindi s’ya aware na wala nang natitira para sa kanya,” added Belle.
Collaborating with Cathy Garcia-Sampana anew

It did not take long for Belle to reunite with director Cathy Garcia-Sampana, with whom she last worked in the 2025 film “Meet, Greet & Bye”. From a heart-tugging family drama to a heartbreaking relationship story, Direk Cathy guided Belle and her co-star Donny through every step of the way.
Belle lauded Direk Cathy’s commitment to her cast and the craft of filmmaking, saying, “She cries with you. She laughs with you. She really goes through the emotions with you.”
The actress also shared that “Tayo Sa Wakas” only strengthened her trust and relationship with Direk Cathy further. Belle viewed her not only as a collaborator but as a “mom” on set, one who would even impart wise words about love.
Reaching new heights, literally and emotionally

One memory from “Tayo Sa Wakas” that truly stuck with Belle is filming in Mount Polis, known for its majestic sea of clouds. She recalled taking about a one-hour hike with the cast and crew, only to be rewarded with a breathtaking view that could bring anyone to tears!
Speaking of emotions, Belle also sought help in accessing her character’s feelings and struggles by consulting friends who shared similar experiences with Cheska and Cisco (Donny), who, in the film, ride the highs and lows of a seven-year relationship.
Embracing vulnerability

“Tayo Sa Wakas” indeed marks a more mature chapter in Belle’s career, one that calls for a more nuanced and vulnerable performance.
“Paloob ‘yung sakit n’ya, hindi s’ya ‘yung palabas,” Belle said of Cheska’s quiet battles. “So how am I able to keep it all in but still feel the pain?”
Witnessing Cisco and Cheska’s love firsthand, Belle is ultimately looking forward to how their story could resonate with audiences, especially the idea of how love, no matter how powerful, “can’t either break or heal” someone.
While Belle’s stories paint a clearer picture on what to expect from “Tayo Sa Wakas”, nothing compares to watching the film in the cinemas! Let Cisco and Cheska’s story move you the way it did for Belle as the film is NOW SHOWING in cinemas.
