Romance, fun, and full-on party flair lit up the “Love You So Bad” Media Day and Trailer Launch event, with the cast and crew delivering all the feels and all the Y2K sparkles at the Dolphy Theater on December 8.

Headlined by Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, and Bianca de Vera, “Love You So Bad” is a co-production between Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Regal Entertainment, and proudly joins the lineup of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival. The film is helmed by director Mae Cruz Alviar and written by Crystal San Miguel.

The night’s Y2K theme brought out the cast and crew’s most stylish looks on the red carpet. Supporting cast members and “Pinoy Big Brother: Collab Edition” alumni Xyriel Manabat, Ralph de Leon, and Vince Maristela arrived alongside Zach Castañeda and Reign Parani — each of them gamely posing at the photo booth platform before heading into the theater.

Direk Mae also made a fashion statement, wearing a chic white shirt and black skirt while radiating youthful energy, as she posed with finger hearts and playfully jived for the cameras.

The main trio of lead stars, meanwhile, highlighted their signature colors with their own Y2K twists. Will Ashley channeled charming sleekness in a sky-blue long-sleeve polo paired with a necktie and black slacks. Dustin Yu embraced his iconic yellow through a standout leather jacket layered over a white polo, and finished with black slacks and necktie. Bianca de Vera, true to her character Savannah, dazzled in a sparkly pink dress that embodied her party-girl vibe.

Hosted by MJ Felipe, the media conversation felt more like a hangout party than a press event, especially with a mobile bar set up onstage where the cast could grab their drinks while chatting.

The crowd was then treated to the official trailer launch of “Love You So Bad”, which follows Savannah (Bianca) as she introduces the two men in her life: LA (Dustin) and Vic (Will). With both men offering completely different kinds of love, it’s clear Savannah is headed for one tough dilemma as she figures out who truly makes her heart beat.

Bianca became emotional after watching the trailer, recalling how she grew up watching Star Cinema films and how surreal it feels to finally see the trailer of her own movie: “Seeing our very own trailer, grabe, napaka-rewarding. Natutuwa ako para sa little Bianca na nangarap.”

Writer Crystal San Miguel described the film in one succinct line: “It’s a story of three young people who got caught in this love triangle, and makikita natin, two different kinds of love story talaga s’ya.”

When asked what makes Vic the perfect match for Savannah, Will offered a heartfelt answer. As Vic, Will highlighted the importance of effort: “It’s really more of the efforts, I guess. Feeling ko doon mas nagma-matter… Basta mahal ko si Savannah.”

As for Dustin, when asked how closely his character LA mirrors his real-life persona, he shared that he and LA both love deeply, but LA carries heavier emotional burdens: “I would say same kami kung paano kami magmahal sa isang tao, pero ‘yung bigat ng character ko, medyo malayo.”

Direk Mae also expressed her own insights on the leading men. She explained, “Si Vic… he’s the motivator. He wants what’s best for her and strives to bring out the better version of Savannah.”

About LA, she noted, “He’s the protector… Kumabaga, ‘negative and negative is equal to positive.’ So, parang kadamay n’ya sa the highs and the lows... a lot of lows.”

Bianca, staying true to Savannah’s candid and kikay nature, shared her advice for those in their own love triangle dilemma: “Take your time in choosing, hindi naman tayo nauubusan ng oras para mamili… Just love as much as you want to. Hindi mo kasalanan na maganda ka at minamahal ka ng dalawang tao.”

It’s going to be one hell of a kilig ride! Experience the love triangle of the year with Savannah, Vic, and LA as “Love You So Bad” hits cinemas on December 25, as part of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival!
