Tears? Check. Laughter? Check. The Facundos in “Meet, Greet & Bye” prove that family stories hit hardest when they feel this real — just ask the audiences who left theaters misty-eyed and full of love.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the film follows Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, and Juan Karlos as the Facundo siblings, who come together to convince their mother, Mama Baby (Maricel Soriano), to continue her cancer treatment after her illness returns.

Celebrities, critics, and fans alike experienced the powerful family connection firsthand at the “Meet, Greet & Bye” world premiere on Tuesday, November 11, at SM Megamall. It was a night filled with emotional reactions that spoke volumes about the film.

Dingdong Dantes was among the first to share his thoughts: “I love the film. Parang gusto kong umuwi para yakapin ang mga kapatid ko, lalong lalo na ‘yung nanay ko.”

Maja Salvador and Alora Mae Sasam admitted they couldn’t hold back their emotions. “Pinipigilan ko ‘yung iyak ko, pero kahit anong pigil ko, [lumalabas] talaga,” Maja shared with a laugh, even reenacting her favorite line from the movie: “Anak mo rin naman ako, ‘di ba?”

Director Antoinette Jadaone also praised fellow filmmaker Cathy Garcia-Sampana for her masterful touch: “Direk Cathy is really a master of mounting Filipino dramas.”

BGYO members Gelo and JL shared how they personally related to the story. JL revealed that they, too, were mama’s boys, while also reflecting on how Tupe’s experience as an OFW hit close to home. “It’s a reminder for us to keep [our] loved ones close,” Gelo said.

Viewers also took their emotions online, flooding social media with heartfelt reactions. Film critic Goldwin Reviews gave the film 4 stars, praising its portrayal of family dynamics: “Sa bawat oras na hindi sila nagtatalo, panalo ito sa pakiramdam. Mula sa simpleng ngiti hanggang sa mahigpit na yakap, malinamnam itong pagmasdan.”

On X, viewer Chloe Saavedra (@KlowieDB) shared how the film inspired her to reflect on her own family: “This movie made me pause and think about how lucky I am to have a family that’s always there, through every high and low.”

Meanwhile, viewer France Sajorda (@PrincessFrance) highlighted Belle Mariano’s subtle yet powerful performance: “Si @bellemariano02 kahit walang linya, makikita’t mararamdaman yung bawat emosyon ni Geri sa sitwasyon given eksena.”

Also in X, one Tita Jho (@maryjhoanaaa) sent her admiration to the Diamond Star herself, Maricel Soriano: “Ikaw pa rin talaga yung nasa tuktok sa listahan ng happy pills ko. Wala ka pa ring kapantay sa puso ko. Salamat sa pagpapasaya, Inay @officialmaryaph.”

From tear-jerking scenes to heartfelt laughter, “Meet, Greet & Bye” is indeed touching audiences everywhere — a family story that lingers long after the credits roll. Now, it’s your turn to meet the Facundos!
