Nation's girl group BINI and Indonesian girl pop group no na set social media ablaze after both groups dropped dance covers of each other's songs just hours apart, sparking widespread calls from fans for an official collaboration between two of Southeast Asia's hottest acts.
On Saturday, May 23, no na kicked things off by releasing a dance cover of "Blush," one of the songs BINI performed at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival earlier this year.
The Indonesian group leaned into the cross-fandom love with their caption: "ORCHIDS BLOOM" — a nod to BINI's fanbase name, the Blooms, and no na's own fandom, the Orchids.
They also included a line straight from the song: "Oh kalami,” a Bisaya phrase that roughly translates to "it feels good" or "it tastes delicious."
"OUH KALAMI LIKE WE AT BINICHELLA!!" they wrote, tagging BINI in the post. The video quickly gained traction on TikTok, racking up nearly a million views as of this writing.
BINI returned the favor just hours later with their own dance cover of no na's "rollerblades."
"On our rollerblades for @nona 🛼🔥," BINI captioned the clip, which has since surpassed two million views on the platform.
Fans of both groups wasted no time celebrating the mutual appreciation, and many have already begun pushing for something more official.
"SEABLINGS SUPPORTING SEABLINGS WE LOVE TO SEE IT," one fan wrote.
"SEA-STER! No na x BINI collab when?" another asked.
The fan-coined term "SEA-blings" — a portmanteau of Southeast Asia and siblings — has been circulating online to describe the growing kinship between the two groups, with supporters framing the exchange as a landmark moment for SEA-pop, the region's rising wave of homegrown pop music.
Some fans even brought instant noodles into the conversation: "they're cooking something 👀... indomie mi goreng x lucky me pancit canton let's go!!!!" — a playful reference to Indonesia and the Philippines' most beloved comfort food brands.
Others kept it simple: "BINI X NO NA!! MANIFESTING 🙏."
The pairing has also drawn attention for reasons beyond the music. no na is a Bahasa Indonesia word for "miss" or "young lady," while BINI is derived from the Tagalog word "binibini," which carries the same meaning — two girl groups from neighboring countries, named after the same idea.
no na is a four-member group composed of Christy Gardena, Esther Geraldine, Baila Fauri, and Shazfa Adesya, signed under 88rising, the pioneering Asian music label behind global acts like NIKI, Rich Brian, and Ylona Garcia.
The label has long been at the forefront of bringing Asian artists to international audiences, making its acts a natural fit alongside BINI's own global push.
BINI, on the other hand, comprises eight members: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena.
The group became the first Filipino act to perform at Coachella, cementing their place as one of OPM's biggest exports.
With the momentum both groups are carrying, a collaboration feels less like a long shot and more like the next logical step.
