An exciting collaboration between Sofronio Vasquez and his The Voice USA coach Michael Bublé is finally in the works.
In a media huddle for his upcoming BRAVO! Manila Concert alongside Jed Madela and Bituin Escalante, Sofronio revealed that that he will be releasing an extended play (EP) produced by no less than the Canadian singer-songwriter.
“I’m excited to share that Michael Bublé is producing my EP,” he told entertainment reporters.
Fans can expect the EP to come out before the ‘ber months, but Sofronio did not disclose the title yet.

“Nagawa na namin ‘yung ibang songs,” he said. “But I think [based on our] last conversation, ang unang ilalabas is Christmas song. It’s a duet Christmas song with me and him, and we’re doing an English-Tagalog song.”
Sofronio delightedly announced that he finally stepped into songwriting, saying that he wrote some of song’s lyrics in Filipino.
“Nakaka-excite and nakakatuwa kasi I did my part,” he said. “First time, I wrote the Tagalog lyrics of it, with the help of the musicians [and] songwriters in Manila, nagpa-consult ako kasi hindi ako masyadong magaling.”
Without detailing much about it, the 32-year-old hinted that the EP also contains song collaborations with David Foster and Paul Anka.
He also added that Michael himself is preparing a song for him, which will be included in the EP as well.
“Nag-record na kami ng five songs pero meron pang isang song na isusulat talaga ni Michael Bublé for me,” he shared.
Sofronio is also looking forward to the much-anticipated comeback of Michael, revealing that he has also been convincing his The Voice USA coach to join him on his local shows.
“Excited na rin talaga siyang kumanta dito. Sabi ko sa kanya, the last time you were in the Philippines was I think PICC. So hopefully he comes here,” he said.
He went on: “Kinukulit ko siya, ‘mag-guest ka naman sa ibang concert ko,’ ayaw niya talaga. Sabi niya, because ‘I want that when I come to your show, it has to be very particular and it has to be magical for the both of us. He’s going to make it big for sure.”
Recalling the best advice he received from his mentor that he currently applies for himself, Sofronio shared: “Sabi niya (Michael), (it) doesn't mean you can, you should.”
In 2024, Sofronio made history as the first Filipino and first Asian to clinch the The Voice USA title during its 26th season.
