K-pop supergroup BTS announced late Tuesday they would drop a new album and launch a new world tour in the spring of 2026, following a pause in group activities that coincided with the members' mandatory military service.
The announcement was made by the seven members during a livestream on the fan community platform Weverse.
"Starting from July [2025], we will gather and stick together in earnest to focus on working on music," RM, the seven-member act's leader, said in the livestream, as translated by K-pop news website Soompi.
"Our full-group album will really be released next spring."
RM added: "Of course, we will also be going on a tour, a world tour, starting next spring."
BTS, widely regarded as South Korea's most lucrative musical act and a global symbol of the country's cultural clout, has been on a self-described "hiatus" since 2022 as its members fulfilled the mandatory military service required of all South Korean men under 30.
Despite the break, the members continued to release solo albums and singles that had been prepared in advance.
Their military service officially concluded last month with the discharge of rapper Suga, the final member to complete enlistment.

In June, the Korea Herald, citing multiple industry sources including a HYBE official, reported that BTS is scheduled to make a comeback in March 2026.
