Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 Second Big Placer Rain Celmar is making waves in the music scene as she co-writes for her highly anticipated debut album, b luvd.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Rain expressed her excitement about sharing her music with fans and supporters.
“For my album, I wrote most of the songs kasi they are 5 tracks and I co-wrote 3 tracks. I’m excited to let you guys hear what creations I have made,” Rain said.
Although thrilled about her creative process, Rain admitted that writing songs wasn't always easy, especially when it came to making them catchy and harmonious.
“I’ve co-written three songs. Ang process talaga is really just about finding the topic I want to talk about. It really delves into the feelings, the experience. I really write about it and then make it singable,” Rain expressed. “That was the hard part actually, making it singable, making it catchy.”
She even teased that one of the tracks came from a moment of irritation.
“Teaser na lang na one song is about something that happened to me. I was so inis at the moment, so I wrote and then ayon yung song. You will know (sa album),” she revealed.
Describing her upcoming release, Rain said listeners can expect a mix of musical styles.
“My EP is very iba-iba. It’s very explorative so I’m not sticking to one genre,” she shared.
Alongside the release of her album, Rain is set to headline Meteor Rain!, a special album launch, and fan meet-and-greet happening on May 30 at the SM North Edsa Sky Dome in Quezon City.
“I prepared for the album launch with voice lessons, a lot of them. I’m also trying to lose weight. You’ll see it in the album launch the preparations I’ve done,” Rain said.
Just a week before the event, Star Music officially announced that tickets for Meteor Rain! were already sold out.
"It's like a concert of me performing my songs live and finally showing the people na this is what I can do. Kaya I'm excited and ma-meet and greet ko na 'yung people that have supported me," she shared in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
As if her music career weren’t enough, Rain is also stepping into the world of acting. She is set to appear in iWantTFC’s upcoming youth sports-romance series Love at First Spike.
Rain expressed gratitude for being part of a cast that includes Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate Emilio Daez, Beach Bros lead and internet personality Sean Tristan, and Pinoy Big Brother Otso ex-housemate Reign Parani.
The series also features Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate River Joseph, Pinoy Big Brother: Connect Andi Abaya, Gen 11 ex-housemates Dylan Yturralde, Binsoy Namoca, as well as Pinoy Big Brother: Otso alum Sky Quizon.
“I don’t know what to expect kasi it’s my first time in a series. Buti na lang, the cast are very nice and welcoming kaya puro tawa on set, kaya I was happy na nandoon sila. Talagang it was all fun and games pero with the cameras on professional sila,” Rain said.
Rain also learned professionalism through her castmates, saying, “Nakuha ko iyong attitude na we can always have fun epro kapag trabaho na, trabaho. Siguro po kasi like Andi Abaya, palagi po kami nagchi-chikahan tapos biglang kapag on cam na, biglang nag-serious mode.”
Rain revealed that she found playing her character, Olivia, both easy and challenging due to their similarities.
“Olivia is almost like Rain. Very similar na parang ang challenge with me is to find the difference. It was easy to play but at the same time, it was hard to play kasi we are so similar. I want to make kaunting difference,” she stated.
In a heartfelt social media post, Rain reflected on her memorable first acting experience and her excitement for the series, which is set to premiere in June.
“My very first acting role ACKKKJS‼️😝 I'm incredibly grateful to have been surrounded by such welcoming, guiding, and loving ates and kuyas on set. Being the bunso of this amazing family made my debut even more special,” she wrote.
