BTS’s j-hope shared his excitement over the group’s much-anticipated reunion, as all seven members are set to complete their mandatory military service by June.
In an interview on Apple Music 1’s The Zane Lowe Show, j-hope opened up about the group's future plans. "I look forward to June when our members will have completed their service. We will quickly get together and talk about what BTS can do in the future," the K-Pop star said. "I think it’s going to be a massive energy."
j-hope also reflected on how their time apart has helped each member develop as individual artists.
"I think that over time, we each refined our unique identities as each of us work on their own music, come out with their solo projects and do their own thing," he said. "The funny thing for me is when our identities, which have taken shape in various ways, come together as BTS, I'm curious to see how it'll look like."
In early April, HYBE shared updates on what fans can expect from the group moving forward.
"The members of BTS are going to finish their military duties within the first half of this year and return to their activities," HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang remarked as per report by Korea JoongAng Daily.
HYBE has already started reaching out to songwriters. "But they need time to prepare for their music. We are in talks with top-tier songwriters but the artists also need time to think and prepare themselves," Jae-sang pointed out.
When asked about the next BTS tour, he replied: "A tour date is usually set after [an artist] finishes their music."
He also emphasized the need for the comeback to align with the group’s creative aspirations. "Since BTS members have already marked themselves as global artists, we are consistently talking about the next step and their visions, which means that we will also need to think about our strategies in accordance with that direction," he stated.
Jin was the first BTS member to complete his mandatory military service and was discharged on June 11, 2024. Meanwhile, j-hope completed his service on October 17, 2024.
The remaining BTS members V, Jungkook, Jimin, RM, and Suga are scheduled to complete their military service by June this year.
