Filipino BLINKS proved themselves as one of the most passionate and unforgettable crowds as K-pop girl group BLACKPINK returned to the Philippines for their two-day DEADLINE World Tour last weekend, November 22 and 23.
Armed with their hammerbongs (BLACKPINK’s official lightstick) and wearing BLACKPINK-inspired outfits, the BLINKS were a sea of pink flooding the Philippine Arena as they screamed in excitement for the group. The show opened with powerhouse performances of hits like “Kill This Love” and “Pink Venom,” followed by the members’ greetings.
“Welcome to the 2025 BLACKPINK DEADLINE World Tour here in the Philippines. How has everybody been doing? Philippines, are you ready?” Rosé said.
The girls kept the crowd in high spirits with their songs “How You Like That,” “PLAYING WITH FIRE,” and “Shutdown” for their show’s Act 1.
For the second part, members Jisoo and Lisa showed incredible stages as they performed their songs as solo artists. Jisoo captivated fans with her stunning visuals and catchy songs “Hugs & Kisses” and “earthquake.”
Meanwhile, Lisa took the center stage with “Thunder,” “When I’m With You,” and “Rockstar” as she showed off her dancing prowess as the group’s main dancer.
The group then returned for Act 3 with hits like “Pretty Savage” and “Don’t Know What To Do.” During this segment, the girls expressed their love for their Filipino fans.
“Oh my god! It is so lovely to be back. We are so excited to be here tonight,” Rosé said. “For our next song, I need you Filipinos with your beautiful voices to sing-along with ‘Don’t Know What To Do’ because we don’t know what to do without you in the Philippines.”
“I miss the Philippines so much. Good food, good mangoes,” Lisa said as she shared that she ate her favorite fruit upon arriving for their show. “We are just so excited to be back in the Philippines.
The girls also flexed the Filipino phrase they learned for their fans, sweetly saying: “Mahal ko kayo talaga! The best kayo. Philippines, the best kayo!”
Lisa proudly commented on how their Filipino word pronunciation sounded natural: “Wait! We sound professional. We sound native. We did!”
Rosé added, “Philippines, it’s been such a long time and we miss you so much and time flies already. It’s already been two years but we are back already and we just love that each and every one of you are here today.”
The performance continued with debut hits “Whistle,” “STAY,” and “Lovesick Girls.”
The next act featured solo stages for members Jennie and Rosé, as the venue filled with red lights. Jennie first appeared with “like JENNIE” making the crowd dance along, followed by “ExtraL,” and “Starlight.”
Rosé delighted fans by featuring a favorite Filipino snack — turon — on her offstage segment before performing “number one girl.”
“I am super really, extremely, amazingly excited to come here and to perform for you guys. Now we are back in the Philippines and I must say that sometimes I personally forget what it is that I don’t like and some days that feel like one thing and today I kind of feel that way,” she shared.
“As we were coming out and heard you guys cheering for us, it reminded me that you guys made me believe I’m BLACKPINK. I promised you before we go up I don’t feel very special, I don’t know but then I feel like I’m BLACKPINK right now with your screams, your cheers and presence made me feel like possibly, quite possibly, your number one girl,” she added, dedicating the song to their fans.
Midway, however, Rosé requested to repeat her performance as she was not feeling her best. She then requested fans to join her in singing the song.
“I'm gonna need you guys to help me out, if it’s okay. I really had a really bad cold yesterday,” she explained. “ You guys are incredible singers, I know that. So please help me and do this one more time. Thank you so much for being patient with me, Philippines. You guys are amazing!”
She continued performing “toxic till the end” and her viral song with Filipino american Bruno Mars “APT.” where she brought a lucky fan onstage to sing along.
BLACKPINK returned for Act 5 with their newest single “JUMP,” literally making the crowd jump along, followed by “BOOMBAYAH,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “As If It’s Your Last,” and “Forever Young.”
On their ment segment, Rosé opened up on feeling worried about how she will perform on the first day as she was not feeling well.
Rosé explained, “Yesterday, I had a really bad cold and I was so worried so I prayed and then slept well. When I woke up, I felt good and my voice was okay because I had a cold yesterday on the flight over so I took the medicine and I slept but then when I was coming up, ‘Oh no! I think I kind of lost it (my voice) so thank you everybody for singing with me. This doesn't happen often where I completely lose my falsetto but it’s just that I have a cold. Salamat, Philippines! Thank you so much. You guys sounded more beautiful than I do!”
“Everyone sounds amazing too. I was listening at the back,” Lisa applauded Rosé and the crowd.
Fans alson joined in a dance challenge. Several celebrities — including Pauleen Luna and her daughter Tali, BINI’s Stacey and Aiah, and Pinoy Big Brother alum Charlie Fleming and Rain Celmar — were spotted dancing along.
The night closed with “JUMP,” “Really,” and “See U Later,” leaving fans ecstatic and with a promise to return.
