Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The trailer teases an escalating war as the Fire Nation attacks the Earth Kingdom. As the conflict intensifies, Avatar Aang, played by Gordon Cormier, begins training in earthbending under Toph, portrayed by Miyako, in preparation for the battles ahead.
"The Fire Nations hasn't stopped fighting. All over the Earth Kingdom, they're waging war. If we're gonna defeat them, I need you to teach me Earth Bending. You're the best Earth Bender I have ever seen," Aang told Toph.
Towards the end of the trailer, Aang goes head-to-head with Prince Zuko's sister, Azula, played by Elizabeth Yu.
"We have already won. The question is, how much are you willing to lose?" Azula told Aang during their fight.
According to a press release from Netflix's Tudum, season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Avatar Aang as he reunites with Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) for a new mission.
The group travels to the city of Ba Sing Se to seek the help of the Earth King in their fight against Fire Lord Ozai, portrayed by Daniel Dae Kim. Along the way, Aang begins training in earthbending under Toph.
Meanwhile, Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) continues his pursuit of Aang, while his sister Azula also enters the conflict.
The season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to premiere on Netflix on June 25.
Back in March 2024, Netflix confirmed that Avatar: The Last Airbender would return for two additional seasons following the massive success of its debut season, which drew millions of viewers worldwide.
The second and third seasons were filmed back-to-back, with Netflix later announcing in November 2024 that production for season 3 had officially concluded.
"When we started working on Season 2, we gathered three forces: integrity, hope, and joy. And here we are almost three years later wrapping the end of production with an immensely talented and devoted team that met those ideals and exceeded them," executive producer and writer Christine Boylan said in a past interview with Tudum.
She added: "I am eternally grateful to be part of this important, hilarious, action-packed team who is bringing this epic live action story to the world."
In May 2025, Netflix also revealed that Filipino actress Dolly de Leon had joined the cast as twins Lo and Li, the firebending mentors of Azula, the princess of the Fire Nation.
"I'm extremely excited and honored to be part of an iconic live action version of an animated cult classic. It's my first time to play twins, which is the best fun in a creative process. It’s a dream come true," the Golden Globe-nominated actress remarked.
