“18th Rose,” the coming-of-age romantic film of Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri, premiered Thursday on Netflix.
“Snippets pa lang napanuod namin. Gustong gusto na namin mapanuod, excited na ako,” Manabat said Wednesday in an interview.
Apart from the Philippines, the movie by Dolly Dulu was also released internationally across the platform’s other territories.
“This has honestly been almost a year in the making. And for it to come out not just in the Philippines but all over the world as a Netflix Original is a dream come true,” Echarri said. “Sobrang excited na ako mapanood ng kamag-anak ko sa States. Even my cousins in Spain.”
“18th Rose” is set in early 2000s in the province of Romblon.
Manabat takes on the role of a spirited student who dreams of having a debut celebration, while Echarri portrays a newcomer who will unexpectedly help make that dream come true.
