Looking to escape to the sunny beaches of Cebu and soak in its turquoise waters? Well, you're not the only one, as Blackpink mega-star Jisoo, or at least her character in her latest K-drama "Boyfriend on Demand," is feeling the same.

A scenic beach on the central Philippine island was featured in the Netflix series, which premiered all 10 of its episodes on March 6.

In the show's first episode, Jisoo's character, Seo Mi-rae, rides the train on her way to work as a webtoon producer but appears to dread the day ahead, instead reminiscing about her vacation in the Philippines.

The scene then transports Mi-rae to a beach, with a marker bearing the Philippines' tourism slogan, "Love the Philippines," visible in the background.

"Last summer in the Philippines was the best. I wish I could go swimming," Mi-rae says in the scene, before her moment of reminiscing is cut short by a messy toddler who sits beside her on the train.

The scene was filmed at Shangri-La Mactan, said the Department of Tourism (DOT), which also promoted the K-drama on its Facebook page.

"The breathtaking locations make the drama even more romantic," the DOT wrote.

"See if you can spot Cebu’s beautiful scenes throughout the show!" it told its Facebook page followers.

"Boyfriend on Demand" centers on Mi-rae, who escapes her mundane daily life by subscribing to a virtual reality–based dating program that allows her to experience fantasy dates with a variety of men.

The series also stars Seo In-guk as Mi-rae's real-life romantic interest, with cameos from heartthrobs like Seo Kang-jun, Lee Soo-hyuk and Lee Jae-wook as some of her virtual dates.

Notably, In-guk was appointed Philippine celebrity tourism ambassador for Korea in 2025.

"Boyfriend on Demand" is the latest series featuring Jisoo as the lead actress, following the period romance "Snowdrop" in 2021 and the zombie horror "Newtopia" in 2025.
