Winona Ryder is joining the third season of Wednesday.

The actress, who recently starred in Stranger Things, will star as Tabitha in the upcoming season of Wednesday according to the cast announcement video released by Netflix.

Fans online were quick to react to the news.

"Winona Ryder is [the] best addition that could ever happen to the cast of Wednesday," one fan wrote.

Aside from Winona, new cast members for the third season of the hit Netflix series includes Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, and Eva Green, as per Tudum.

Returning cast members include Jenna Ortega who stars as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones who portrays Morticia Addams, and Luis Guzmán who plays Gomez Addams, among others.

The production for season 3 has started near Dublin with Tim Burton returning as director.

"I'm so excited to be back for Season 3, and it's great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah… makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky," Tim said.

Co-creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar teased what fans can expect in the show's third season"

Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can," Alfred relayed.

"We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday," Miles added.

Winona and Jenna Ortega previously worked together on the 2024 movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Winona recounted meeting Jenna for the first time shortly after Wednesday premiered, sharing how their connection deepened while filming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

"She's a great actress. She's really, really good. I really liked her. I thought, ‘Oh, this is going to be good.’ And then something happened in the attic. That day we started talking, and we just went really deep. And this, we sort of formed this bond," Winona shared in a previous interview with TFC News in 2024.

The actress added: "Wednesday and Stranger Things, these shows, you're in people's homes. It can be very overwhelming. So I wanted to be there for her. I went through it. We had a special bond."
