After a brief pause from major on-screen projects, Julia Montes is set to make a highly anticipated return in 2026 that longtime fans have been hoping for. In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the actress revealed that among her upcoming projects is a movie with her longtime boyfriend, actor-director Coco Martin, marking another milestone for the CocoJul loveteam.
Julia was last seen as the lead star of the 2024 drama series Saving Grace, which later earned international recognition after being named Best Adaptation of an Existing Format (Scripted) at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards held in Singapore on December 4. The project marked a strong comeback for the actress and set the tone for what she describes as a promising next chapter in her career.
During her talk with PUSH ABS-CBN, Julia first shared that she will be starring in a new teleserye that she considers a “dream project”. While details remain under wraps, she expressed her excitement about finally bringing it to life.
“May dream project ako na serye na gagawin soon. Pag pwede na namin i-announce sasabihin ko,” she said, hinting that fans will not have to wait too long for the announcement.
Alongside the teleserye, Julia made a bigger revelation sharing that she will be reuniting with Coco on the big screen. While she kept the details limited, her excitement was evident as she spoke about the project.
“May movie kaming gagawin rin ni Coco, so ayun. Isa rin ‘yun na excited ako na film kasi maganda yung istorya at looking forward talaga,” she shared.
When asked directly if the movie is expected to be released within the year, she candidly said: “Yes.”
Although she could not reveal more about the film just yet, Julia assured fans that the project is something worth waiting for. “Ang pwede ko lang sabihin, makakatrabaho ko si Coco,” she said, keeping the excitement alive while maintaining the mystery around the project.
Julia described 2026 as a year filled with surprises, saying, “This 2026, ang daming surprises.”

This is not the first time Julia has hinted at a major collaboration with Coco. Back in October last year, she shared in an interview with DJ Chacha in the From The Heart segment on YouTube that a special project was already in the works. At that time, she did not specify whether it would be a teleserye or a movie, referring to it simply as a “project” and a "dream story", saying how hopeful she is to announce it in early 2026.
Julia and Coco last appeared together in the Netflix film Pula, directed by Brillante Mendoza, which premiered in early 2024. Prior to that, their last romantic drama project was Star Cinema’s A Moment in Time in 2013, making their upcoming movie a long-awaited reunion for fans who have followed their journey both on and off screen.
Beyond acting, Julia also continues to support Coco in his work, including his role as lead star and creative force behind FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, where she also serves as a co-producer. In the same interview, she shared how their partnership extends behind the scenes and how she supports him in practical ways.
“Ako ang masasabi ko kasi sobra talaga akong naa-amaze sa talent at sa gift na meron si Coco. Sa creative side, talagang siya sobrang forte niya ‘yon. Siyempre ‘yung mga bagay na pwede akong may maitulong ‘yun yung tinutulungan ko sa kanya,” she said.

Julia explained that she assists with tasks that help ease Coco’s workload, especially on the business side. “So yung mga finances, like mga numbers, instead na iisipin pa niya, ayun tinutulungan ko siya doon,” she shared. “Pero sa creative kasi wala talaga [ako diyan]. Talagang siya yung pinakamagaling ika nga. Yun yung pinaka-forte niya.”
As a partner, Julia sees her role as steady support, saying that she supports Coco by easing his mind even on the littlest things.
“Lagi ko ngang sinasabi, lahat ng little things, maaring malaking bawas na ‘yun sa kaniya. Marami eh. ‘Yun lang kung ano yung tingin ko makakatulong kahit papaano,” she shared.
