Jericho Rosales in 'Quezon.' Hawai’i International Film Festival
MANILA — The historical epic "Quezon" will have its international festival debut at the 45th Hawai’i International Film Festival (HIFF45) this October as part of “Spotlight on the Philippines,” a program marking Filipino American History Month, TBA Studios announced Monday.
The film will screen October 26 at Consolidated Kahala Theater and October 28 at Consolidated Kapolei Theater. Tickets are available through the festival website.
Directed by Jerrold Tarog, "Quezon" is the third installment in TBA’s “Bayaniverse” trilogy, following "Heneral Luna" (2015) and "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" (2018). The film chronicles Manuel L. Quezon’s pursuit of Philippine independence during the Commonwealth era, navigating rivalries with Leonard Wood, Sergio Osmeña, and Emilio Aguinaldo during the 1935 presidential elections.
Jericho Rosales stars as Quezon in his return to the big screen, alongside Mon Confiado as Aguinaldo, Benjamin Alves as the younger Quezon, and "Game of Thrones" actor Iain Glen as U.S. Governor-General Wood.
The ensemble also includes Romnick Sarmenta, Karylle, JC Santos, Jake Macapagal, Angeli Bayani, Therese Malvar, Joross Gamboa, and Bodjie Pascua.

"Quezon" opens in Philippine cinemas on October 15 before rolling out in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.
