OPM icon and singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid took to social media to praise Kapamilya stars Belle Mariano and Kai Montinola after their trending duet performances with him on the August 3 episode of ASAP.
On Instagram, Ogie shared heartfelt messages dedicated to Belle and Kai, both of whom joined him in performing his classic hits “Nandito Ako” and “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.”
Belle performed “Nandito Ako” in a touching duet with Ogie, who described her as “real beauty inside and out.”
“Belle is a person that you can easily chat with and speak about anything under the sun. (Or the studio lights hehe) She is what her name stands for. Real beauty inside and out,” he wrote.
“I am so happy that we got to sing one of my classic hits written by the great Aaron Paul Del Rosario which i rearranged today for our duet. You sang so beautifully and you were truly radiant. Busog ang puso ko. Salamat sa yo Belle. The Lord always bless you,” he added.
Fans flooded the comments section with praise for the heartfelt performance, with one saying, “I love this duet! ❤️❤️❤️ Belle's voice is so calming and angelic ❤️ Forever a fan of Belle! More duets with Belle, please! ❤️”
Another one expressed, “Ang ganda ganda talaga ng rendition nila 🥹 LSS na po sa song na 'to.. ang ganda ng voice @belle_mariano @ogiealcasid napakagaling 👏🙌.”
Aside from Belle, Ogie also performed “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” with Kai Montinola, Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 4th Big Placer.
“Played keys and sang with this young lady who was not only exceptional with her singing but possessed a presence that is absolutely stellar!! @kaisha.aaa you were simply amazing. Thank you so much for the opportunity of giving life to my music,” Ogie expressed.
He also mentioned meeting Kai’s father, a longtime fan of his, and expressed hope of singing with her parents in the future.
“Thank you for making me meet your father. Hopefully one day I can sing with him and your mom too. The Lord bless you abundantly. ❤️❤️❤️🎤🎤🎤,” he added.
Kai replied with gratitude, “Thank you so much for this amazing experience! 🙏 I’m beyond grateful and honestly super kilig to have sung one of your beautiful songs, one that has touched so many Filipino lives, including mine and my family’s. Truly unforgettable! 🫶🏻.”

On her own social media account, Kai reflected on the special moment performing alongside an OPM icon.
“My parents always sing OPM songs at every family gathering, and thanks to them (and their nonstop karaoke sessions), a part of my soul will always be passionate when it comes to singing the classics ❤️🩹,” Kai said.
She went on: “Kaya thank you @asapofficial for this amazing experience to share the stage with ate @belle_mariano and OPM icon Sir @ogiealcasid! kilig na kilig kaming tatlo, especially my dear mother and father (a certified Sir Ogie enthusiast) 🤣.
Before their ASAP performance, Ogie and Kai also shared an impromptu duet of “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” during the It’s Showtime segment “Escort Mo, Show Mo” on July 30, where Kai appeared as one of the "board members."
During her introduction, Kai requested a duet performance with Ogie, singing his song “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.” Impressed by the young star talent, Ogie couldn’t help but express appreciation to Kai.
“Ang sarap pakinggan (kumanta ni Kai),” Ogie said. “Ang galing.”
Co-host Jhong Hilario even joked about a potential duo name for Ogie and Kai: “O-Kai.”
