Kapamilya host Robi Domingo admitted that despite being busy with multiple hosting gigs, he sometimes gets emotional whenever a show comes to an end.
In an intimate interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Robi opened up about his feelings as the 20th season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) neared its finale.
“Parang hindi ko na kaya magpaalam sa isang programa na naman pero I’m still so grateful to have these programs lalong lalo na with the support and the clamor for the PBB this season,” Robi said.

He also expressed how much he appreciated how invested the viewers were, especially in the celebrity edition of the show.
“Kahit saan ako magpunta laging sinasabi nila ‘Bakit mo nilabas si ganyan? Bakit ganito nangyayari sa task?’ Sabi ko, ’Hindi po ako si Kuya. Hindi ako ang taumbayan. Nagbabasa lang ako ng resulta,’” Robi recalled.
“For them to get invested, sa lahat po ng mga kapuso and kapamilya po natin, again maraming marami pong salamat. All good things come to this end,” he added.
Speaking of shows wrapping up, Robi also recalled how emotional he got during the final episodes of Pilipinas Got Talent, calling it a “manifested dream.”
“The last time I cried was Pilipinas Got Talent and I got so emotional kasi it was a dream that was manifested. It happened,” Robi expressed.
One of the highlights for Robi was getting paired with Melai Cantiveros as his co-host.
“To tell you honestly, maraming iba’t ibang mga Kapamilya personalities na actually, sinabi na, ‘Baka ito makatrabaho mo. Baka siya or si ganyan.’ I was only wishing for Melai. That is a true. I was only wishing for Melai,” he stated.
Robi went on: “Natupad tapos yung set of judges pa barkada ko, Donny (Pangilinan) and Kathryn (Bernardo), so i couldn't ask for anything more. It was a show na parang hindi ako nagtatrabaho.”
He also recalled the show’s finale, made even more special by the historic, near-perfect win of spinning top performer Cardong Trumpo from Cavite.
“For that to end in a high with Tatay Cardo being the grand champion, it was a beautiful journey, not just for me but for everyone. Kaya parang (sabi ko), ‘Ah tapos na? Kailan na uli?’ To tell you the truth kahit kami hindi pa nakaka-get over kasi ang saya lang niya,” he said.

Despite two major shows ending, Robi was excited for his next project: hosting Idol Kids Philippines alongside Jolina Magdangal.
“Natatawa lang ako kasi yung mga tao sabi ‘Ikaw na naman? Bakit ganoon?’ With that naman po I got to host the last season of idol so they said na kailangan alam yung mechanics (me) and at the same time bagong flavor and to add Miss Jolina to the mix,” he shared.
Robi also shared a funny comment from netizens where he was told he was "collecting" the “Momshies” of Magandang Buhay.
“I've been getting a lot of comments na nakasama ko na si Melai, si Ate Jolina. So hopefully, for the next project, si Miss Regine (Velasquez) naman para makumpleto ko na yung Magandang Buhay,” Robi said with a laugh. “Para lahat ng mga momshies makatrabaho ko na.”
Working with the kiddie hopefuls on Idol Kids has also made Robi reflect on fatherhood.
“For Idol Kids, it's a breath of fresh air kasi mga kids naman. People have been asking me ano yung biggest learning ko sa Idol Kids so far, I think and I hope with His blessing, ang biggest learning ko ay I am ready to have my own,” he expressed.
When asked about adjusting to working with kids, Robi said it wasn’t difficult at all.
“Kasi same ako mag-isip eh, bata rin kasi ako mag-isip,” Robi said. “Siyempre there’s another layer of safety precautions din lalong lalo na kapag they (kiddie hopefuls) don’t get in the competition. Ayon lang naman ang pinakamahirap kasi how could you say na it’s okay to not be okay sa kids. Hindi dapat maraming pasakalye pero dapat may cushion, may buffer and there’s another way in saying it para sa mga ganoong edad."
