GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite -- The stars of ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series "Sins of the Father" gathered fans in full force as they held a grand motorcade and a mall show on Sunday in General Trias City, Cavite.

Leading the cast were Gerald Anderson and Jessy Mendiola, who are both making a much-anticipated return to the spotlight after years away from the teleserye scene.

"Nakakatuwa kasi kahit medyo bad weather, nandito pa rin yung mga tao. Ang pakiusap sana namin, pati sa June 23, 'wag nila kami iwan," Anderson said, referring to the series' official premiere date.

Mendiola was equally overwhelmed by the warm reception, saying: "Ang daming tao, grabe. Sobrang saya namin kasi makakasama natin ang mga favorite nating Kapamilya. Talagang all-out support ang mga taga-General Trias sa ating lahat."

Mendiola acknowledged that she had to make some adjustments in her return to acting, and credited Anderson for making it easy for her.

"Grabe, grabeng adjustment. But I'm very, very grateful. Napakabait ng bida namin talaga," she said of Anderson. "Alagang-alaga kami."

Anderson, for his part, highlighted the challenges of working during the rainy seasons but stressed that these hurdles only serve to fuel him and the rest of his co-stars.

"It's hard lalo na sa sitwasyon natin ngayon, pero at the end of the day, alam naming maganda yung ginagawa namin para sa tao. Mas motivated kami," he said.

As for the show, Anderson assured that it is timely and relatable. "Napakagaling ng cast, ng directors, ng staff—so we're really excited," he also said.

Mendiola proudly called their show a classic "Kapamilya" production.

"Very excited! Tatak Kapamilya talaga ang show na ito—pinag-isipan at pinaghirapan. Grabe ang casting! And of course, our directors, Direk FM Reyes and Direk Bjoy Balagtas—sobrang galing! I'm so excited for everyone to finally see Gerald and me back on screen," she said.
