MANILA — Viewers of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” were left stunned Wednesday night after several key characters, played by Art Acuña, Richard Quan and Aleck Bovick, were killed off in an action-packed episode marked by betrayal, vengeance and heavy losses.
The three characters were killed after the group of Red Phoenix led by Lucio (Ronnie Lazaro) and Espineli (Acuña), crossed paths again with Tanggol and his group after they followed Mauro (Quan) to silence him.
Bovick's character Linda died first when she was shot by Espineli. Next, Mauro was gunned down by Lucio. In the end, Mauro’s daughter Ponggay (Maris Racal) was the one who killed Espineli.
The members of Tondo Gang — Kidlat (Smugglaz), Teban (Bassilyo), Rocky (Flict G), Sonya (Sisa), Toryo (Kial) Jojo (Jonas) and Pito (Mastafeat) were also killed in the episode.
In a social media post, show producer Dreamscape Entertainment expressed its gratitude and bade goodbye to Acuña, Quan, Bovick and the members of Tondo Gang.
