MANILA — Andrea Brillantes and Michael de Mesa have officially exited ABS-CBN’s long-running hit FPJ’s Batang Quiapo after their characters, Fatima and Paeng, were killed in the series’ latest episode. Tuesday.
Fatima was killed during an operation conducted by the police to capture Tanggol (Coco Martin) and his men after they were betrayed.
Before Fatima was shot dead, her father Paeng (Michael de Mesa) was also killed by Rigor (John Estrada).
The death of the two characters, in a way, created an opportunity for Tanggol and his men to escape.
In a social media post, Dreamscape Entertainment and CCM Film Productions bid farewell to the characters portrayed by Brillantes and de Mesa.
The 686th episode of the show garnered 544, 941 peak concurrent viewers or those watching on Kapamilya Online Live at the same time.
Last month, Dreamscape Entertainment confirmed the new characters that will join "Batang Quiapo." Maris Racal and Aljur Abrenica are among the stars who were officially introduced in the show.

"Batang Quiapo" airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Cinemo, A2Z, and TV5. It's also available on iWantTFC and TFC.
