MANILA — Kapamilya actress Krystal Mejes and Kapuso actor Heath Jornales were introduced Thursday as housemates for the upcoming "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0."
Joining the long-running reality show will be like stepping out of the comfort zone for the 17-year-old Mejes, a former child star who appeared in the 2015 drama "Doble Kara."
"I'm a very private person and I value privacy," she told GMA's primetime newscast "24 Oras," where the housemates were revealed.
"But then sabi ko kasi, 'You know maybe it's one way of God nudging me to tell my story,'" she added.
Jornales, 16, said "Pinoy Big Brother" would be a way for him to introduce himself to a wider audience.
"Dumating 'yong opportunity and I had to take it na kasi ito na 'yong chance para makilala ako and makita ng tao kung sino talaga ako," said Jornales, who starred in GMA series such as "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" and "Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila."
"Gusto ko mapakilala sa tao 'yong Heath na helpful, athletic, kind, caring na action star," he said.
This brings the total number of revealed participants to six, ahead of the season's premiere on Saturday, October 25.
Star Magic artists Joaquin Arce and Miguel Vergara, along with Sparkle talents Sofia Pablo and Princess Aliyah, were introduced as new housemates earlier this week.
Earlier this year, ABS-CBN and GMA joined forces for the first-ever "Celebrity Collab Edition" — a historic crossover that brought together stars from both companies for the reality show.
In the inaugural collaboration, housemates competed in pairs composed of a Star Magic and Sparkle artist, with Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca ultimately becoming the season's winners.
"Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" is scheduled to premiere on Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
After its premiere, the show will air weeknights at 9:40 p.m., Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. and Sundays at 10:05 p.m.
