Coco Martin was raving about the performance of his partner, Julia Montes, in the full-length action film "Topakk" after its special advance screening on Thursday.

"Dinaig ako. Sobrang ganda. Ito ang action. Kumbaga, nakaka-miss. Thank you sa 'Topakk' kasi sa December 25, may mapapanood ang mga lalaki, mga barako, may pelikula silang aabangan," the "Batang Quiapo" star said.

"Para sa akin, para siyang nag-upgrade. Para siyang pang-international na talaga. Nakakaproud, para kay Direk Richard Somes, kay Arjo, kay Julia, kila Sid," he added.

Aside from Martin, other celebrities who attended the premiere were Maine Mendoza, Maricel Soriano, Lorna Tolentino, Franco Laurel, Ces Quesada, Sagip Pelikula head Leo Katigbak, Ogie Diaz, Bayani Agbayani, Smokey Manaloto, Liza Dino, and Ice Seguerra.

Also present were former journalist Jay Ruiz, producers of the film Ria Atayde and Gela Atayde, influencers, content creators, ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment executives and directors, and some members of the AFP.

"The best action film from the Philippines. Arjo, Julia, everybody in the cast, they were so good," said Laurel, who praised Somes' direction of the action scenes.

Quesada was also impressed with how the action scenes were executed. "Ngayon lang ako nang nakakita na every time may namamatay, pumapalakpak ako, 'yung mga tao. And emotionally invested in the characters. That's why when everybody dies, they're clapping and that's a good sign," she said.

Lead actor Arjo Atayde has seen the film many times after its exhibition in Switzerland, France, and the United States, but the MMFF version is a different edit.

He added that there's this sense of relief as the movie gets its first screening in the Philippines after two years.

"I'm very happy kasi nga we've been waiting for this day. And ngayon kasama natin 'yung mga friends natin sa industriya and seeing their reactions. And this is a different edit. Kakaiba 'yung edit," he said.

As for his wife Maine's reaction to every scene, he said: "This is not her first time to watch it pero siyempre nagugulat pa rin."

"Topakk" is rated R-16 for SM Cinemas and R-18 for non-SM Cinemas and will hit cinemas nationwide on December 25.
