MANILA — Award-winning director-producer Erik Matti is hoping to develop more films this coming 2025.
According to Matti, they finished a series with actress Judy Ann Santos last year and currently doing "Buy Bust 2" with Anne Curtis.
"Yun 'yung adaptation na isa (Call My Manager). So we finished that a year ago but we're linking 'Call My Manager' with 'On The Job' kasi ang lungkot naman na iisa lang 'yung project. So both of those projects will be announced simultaneously kung kailan 'yung released date. We are currently doing 'Buy Bust.' Nalulungkot na nga kami ni Dondon (Monteverde) kasi hindi kami nakagawa ng movies, ito lang 'yung movie (Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital) na aming nagawa, puro kami series, siyempre gusto namin pelikula," Matti told ABS-CBN News in interview during a media conference for "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital."
He was with his co-producers Dondon Monteverde and Gil, who also stars in the said horror film.

Matti is hoping that they can start developing new movies next year and they might start doing a horror project.
"Kasi parang kapag next year 'On The Job' na lang naiiwan, so we have time to start developing new movies. So we have a few lined up. We don't know yet which one goes first. Of course, excited na kami ni Dondon mag-start ng isang movie. Simple lang muna, horror and then move on from there. We have a lot on our plate actually. So may zombie movie, may historical movie, may war movie, may mga ganoon, alam mo 'yon. The last few years namin puro series, we want to do something medium in scale na hindi naman cast of thousands," Matti said.
In the interview, Matti also answered the question if he thinks that the Philippine Cinema is now surviving.
"We are still waiting for a year na healthy 'yung lahat ng movies not just 'yung tried and tested. Kasi tried and tested 'yung mga pairing ngayon, hindi ba? 'Yung talagang the audience ay will go out of their homes, go to the cinemas and decide to really watch a particular movie not just because it's a love team," Matti said.
Matti is currently busy promoting the horror movie "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital," an official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. It opens in cinemas on Christmas Day, December 25.
