MANILA -- Celebrity couple TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan organized a special block screening of "Hello, Love, Again" for some of their fans and closest friends.
This is the second block screening organized by the couple, the other one was for their celebrity friends attended by Moira, Yeng Constantino and her husband Yan, and the staff of Cornerstone Entertainment.
Lead actor Alden Richards made a surprise appearance at the block screening and thanked the couple for their contribution to the success of the movie.
The couple's duet version of Monterde's hit "Palagi" served as the theme song of "Hello, Love, Again."
“Very grateful for the music, sa musika at sa talento ng dalawang very unique individuals na ito. Ako kasi, in how I watch movies, napakalaking bagay talaga ng theme song. Theme songs stick to the audience. 'Pag naririnig nila 'yung musika na attached sa project na 'yun, instantly naalala nila agad 'yung pelikula. Very grateful, Kath and I, for the song ‘Palagi,'” Richards said.
Tandingan shared that Monterde can’t help but shed a tear while the song was being played in the movie.
“We’re both very emotional kahapon like it was written for the movie,” she said.
It was not just an emotional moment for Monterde but a milestone for his career -- now he has a theme song attached to the highest grossing Filipino film of all time, to his credit.
“Napanood ko na and wala akong ibang naramdaman kung di naintindihan ko na kung bakit sinabi ni Kath sa akin na ito 'yung gusto niyang gamiting kanta sa movie. Match made in heaven talaga -- 'yung song, 'yung characters nila Ethan and Joy,” Monterde said.
In a nutshell, Richards said, “Kinuwento niya yung buong pelikula sa isang awitin.”
“Thank you rin sa inyo dahil pinayagan niyo kami to be part of the film at sobrang laking bagay nito sa aming dalawa,” Monterde said.
"Hello Love Again” is still showing in more than 500 cinemas worldwide, as of November 28.
