LGBTQIA+ couple Ice Seguerra and Liza Diño graced the Express Yourself: Pride Night 2025 at Bridgetown Open Grounds in Pasig City on Saturday, May 31.
Organized by LoveYourself Inc., the event welcomed pride month on a high note by gathering some of the country’s finest drag performers and celebrities.
Ice and Liza were greeted by the loud cheers from the enthusiastic crowd as they appeared on stage.
Ice briefly shared about how their relationship started, bringing inspiration to their fellow LGBTQIA+ community members.
“So, 1999 palang, nililigawan na ako ni Liza. We kind of went out, naging mag-MU (mutual understanding) kami and then we kind of broke up. And then we saw each other after 13 years, tapos hindi na niya ko pinakawalan,” he said.
Meanwhile, Liza shared their secret to a long-lasting relationship during their short appearance on stage.
“It’s really communication,” she said. “Wala sa amin 'yung maliit na bagay. Di ba laging sinasabi na ‘don’t sweat the small stuff.’ Sa amin hindi pwede ‘yun, kailangan laging pinag-uusapan. Kasi ‘yung maliliit na bagay, doon nanggagaling ‘yung mga malalaking issues na hindi niyo na kayang malapasan. So, we always talk about things kapag meron kaming nararamdaman.”
The actor-singer reinforced his wife’s statement, adding how they communicate their feelings with each other.
“Every time we will have discussions, ang goal namin is hindi ‘yung ‘sino ba ang tama, sino 'yung mali.’ Kasi pareho kaming mag-partner na gusto naming maging maayos ang problema," he said.
At the event, the couple also announced that they will be staging the play Choosing at the Doreen Black Box Theatre in Ateneo de Manila University, which will run from June 6 to 15.
“This play is about our community. It’s about the challenges na pinagdadaanan natin (at) kung paano ito haharapin,” Ice said.
Liza also encouraged the LGBTQIA+ community to maximize the pride month by supporting all kinds of pride events.
“Let’s take advantage of this whole month kasi the reality is, pagkatapos ng June, minsan nakakalimutan na nila tayo,” she said. “Pero let’s take advantage of this month to make sure na hindi nila tayo matatanggal. Dapat buong taon pride sa atin.”
“Suportahan natin lahat ng mga activities ngayong pride month. Whether it’s a party, a pride protest, a march, or katulad namin na gumagawa ng mga stage plays kasi after the parties, what really matters are our stories. And kami ni Ice, hindi kami titigil na gumawa ng mga stories na nag-re-represent sa community natin," she added.

In 2024, the couple headlined the same LGBTQIA+ community-themed stage production, sharing a stage together for the first time.
