Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Big Winner Mika Salamanca shared the most ridiculous rumor she has heard about herself, which makes her laugh up until now.
In a candid interview on Hot Takes, Mika shared her thoughts on online validation, her experiences as a content creator and an actress, and how she deals with rumors that continue to circulate online.
Asked what the “most ridiculous rumor” people have made up about her was, Mika had an immediate answer.
“Buntis. Lagi akong sinasabihan na buntis,” she said.
She went on to explain how the speculation would often surface whenever she stepped back from social media.
“May mga time kasi na siyempre bigla na lang akong mawawala sa social media, hindi ako nagu-upload ganiyan. Tapos sinasabi nila na buntis na daw ako. Marami eh. Marami [rin] talaga.”
Despite the recurring gossip, The Secrets of Hotel 88 star candidly said that she no longer allows such claims to affect her. Rather than dwell on negativity, Mika admitted she and her team often find humor in the rumors they encounter online.
“Alam [niyo] hindi ko na rin kasi sinasapuso eh kasi kung hindi naman totoo, why do I need to bother myself remembering things that are not true.”
“Natatawa talaga ako. Natatawa kami [my team]. Tinatawanan namin kapag may rumors kaming nakikita na hindi naman totoo,” she added.

Mika also reflected that criticism and rumors are not always spread by strangers online, but also by one’s own acquaintances who create “troll accounts” to spread hate. Even with the sentiment, Mika did not say whether she had experienced it.
“Naniniwala ako na ang mga basher ay hindi man lang mga taong hindi mo kilala. Minsan mga taong nasa tabi mo [ay] gumagawa ng account laban sa'yo,” she maintained.
“May mga ganon. Akala mo kaibigan mo [pero] gumagawa pala ng troll [account].”
While she acknowledged experiencing bashing and being linked to various rumors in the past, Mika maintained that knowing herself and her truth remains what matters most.
For the actress-content creator, not revealing everything about herself may even have its own charm.
“There’s something about mystery na talagang hinahanap-hanap ng mga tao kaya you have to put a little bit of mystery sa life mo,” she said.
Mika previously made headlines after taking a break from her packed schedule and traveling to Bangkok, Thailand, with Kapuso actor Will Ashley. Photos from the trip surfaced months after the pair sparked romance rumors following what had earlier been described as a friendly trip to Hong Kong.
The photos showed Mika and Will wearing school uniforms while taking photos of each other and visiting several tourist destinations around Bangkok. Soon after, netizens speculated that the pair had supposedly “hard-launched” their rumored relationship, although both were quick to dismiss the claims.
“Masaya kasi kasama din namin yung ibang friends namin, so talagang naikot namin yung Bangkok tapos nakakain din kami ng masasarap na food. Kumbaga, na-enjoy din namin yung day off namin after ng napakabusy na schedule,” Will expressed in an interview with 24 Oras, clarifying that they were not alone during the trip.
“Nagpahinga po talaga,” Mika added.

When asked about netizens describing the posts as a “hard launch,” the two brushed off the speculation, saying they were simply following a popular trend.
“Ha? Hard launch? Di nga namin ini-expect na ganun yung magiging [reaction] ng mga tao talaga eh kasi parang nakita lang namin talaga ni Mika as a trend, sobrang cute din nung trend, so ayun, sakto, may malapit sa amin na uniform na nagre-rent, so trinay lang namin,” Will maintained.
“Di naman,” Mika agreed.
Meanwhile, Mika recently added another milestone to her growing career with the launch of her debut album Mahika.
